Open Post: Hosted By The French School That Had To Tell Tardy Parents Not To Toss Their Kids Over The Fence

I know parents are always telling their children to stay in school and aim high, yet I’ve never known any that literally toss their children over the school’s gate to make sure they get their education. Because that’s what has reportedly been happening at a school in France where parents who miss the 8:30 AM deadline are treating their kids like footballs and hurling them over a six-foot closed gate when they’re running behind schedule. How do you say, “The fuck?!“, in French?

La Provence (via LAD Bible) says that security has been heightened all across France in the wake of terror attacks, and so the Trillade Primary School in Avignon has been closing and locking the gate at 8:30 in the morning. The gates re-open at 10:00 AM, but some parents don’t have time for that, so they partake in France’s newest sports: KID TOSSING! And apparently, it has become a problem, so the school took matters into their own hands by reminding parents that their children are, you know, human beings. Not Glad bags filled with garbage from last night’s boozy wine and cheese mixer that need to be flung into a dumpster. The school put up a sign (actual sign above) that reads, Je ne lance pas mes enfants par-dessus le portail!, which Google claims translates to, I do not throw my children over the gate! The school’s head teacher says that it’s not a huge problem yet, but that they want to stop le foolery before a kid gets hurt.

Sanaa Meziane, the school’s head teacher, said staff have had enough of ‘irresponsible’ parents, telling The Times: “Parents arriving after the bell were literally throwing their kids.” She said the problem was not a regular one, but added that the school needed to take action to prevent accidents in future.

Well, this is one way to train your kid into becoming an Olympic-winning pole vaulter, but it’s also one way for the parent to be out of work for a while. I mean, how can they go to work if they’re laid up in bed after messing up their back from kid-throwing?
