Maria Bakalova Talked About Filming The Rudy Giuliani Scene In “Borat 2”

24-year-old Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova is the breakout star of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (well, after Jeanise Jones). She sat down with The New York Times to discuss her partly scripted, partly improvised role as Borat’s daughter, Tutar. In the movie, Tutar goes from filthy peasant girl to sexy, blonde Fox News blow-up doll, all in the hopes of becoming the next Melania Trump (shudder). Tutar/Maria had to flirt with Rudy Guiliani, the ghoulish face of the Four Seasons Total Landscaping debacle blessing, and had to witness the former NYC mayor put his hands down his pants when they were alone.

Maria was asked if she ever felt she was in any physical danger while filming, and she said, via IndieWire:

“Maybe the scene when we were at the hotel and Rudy Giuliani called the police, I was kind of scared that something would happen. But fortunately, we escaped.”

Bakalova said she was “nervous” before entering the hotel room with Giuliani, adding, “My heart was racing. But Sacha was like, you should be nervous in this situation. So use your nerves. Convert them and accept them and they’re going to help you through everything.”

Thanks, Daddy Sacha Baron Cohen, for teaching Maria to be the very best honeypot sex-bait she can be! As for the horrifying moment when Rudy stuck his hand down his pants (he claims he was trying to take his mic off, then tucking in his shirt), Maria remained vague:

“I saw everything that you saw,” the actress said. “If you saw the movie, that’s our message. We want everybody to see the movie and judge for themselves…Sacha jumped into the room quickly, because he’s been worried about me. So, if he were late, I don’t know how things were going to go. But he came just in time.”

That scene was scarier than any horror movie I’ve ever seen. And I truly believe Rudy was getting ready to show Maria his miniature Four Seasons Total Landscaping hose (shudder #2). I mean, it was right after he patted her lower back and asked for her number and address. For Trump’s cronies, exposing your elderly perv genitals is the next step in seduction. Well, at least Rudy didn’t follow Trump’s advice and just grab the… you know. Yes, the bar is that low.
