Lana Del Rey Snapped At The Suggestion She Might Have Voted For Donald Trump
The Lana Del Rey of the days of old may have best known for sleepily singing songs about video games and Pepsi-flavored crotches, but the current-day version of Lana is one that keeps making headlines for doing things that would make a person think, “Yeah, I could see her voting red.” Like dating a cop, tattling on police brutality protesters, dragging female artists of color, or not wearing a properĀ mask in public. But when one fan dared to suggest that Lana might have voted for Trump in the election, Lana responded with as much anger as a human melatonin pill can muster.
It’s also important to note that Lana didn’t exactly deny the accusation that she voted for Trump. She just slapped back. People magazine reports that this happened after Lana went live on Instagram to watch the election night results. Towards the end of this video (literally the final 15 seconds or so), Lana can be heard singing about how many red votes there appear to be.
Not long after is when her fan casually suggested that Lana Del Rey might have been singing about all those Trump voters, and not screaming into the nearest pillow, because she possibly voted for Trump. That Twitter user has since gone private, likely because they didn’t want to make an already stressful night worse by incurring the wrath of Lana’s fans. Especially after Lana took a screengrab and tweeted it for all to see.

She also continued to fire back at others who suggested that Instagram Live moment might be a clue about Lana’s voting habits.
Stupid.

Again, Lana didn’t clarify if her fan was correct or not. So we’re no closer to the truth. But I don’t think Lana voted for Trump. I also don’t think she voted for Joe Biden either. Lana Del Rey’s body exists in present-day only in the technical sense. Her heart, mind, spirit, and brain are floating somewhere around the summer of 1967. I would not at all be surprised to learn she wrote-in a vote for, “The handsome ghost of John F. Kennedy.”
