Erika Jayne And Tom Girardi Reportedly Don’t Have A Prenup

Yesterday, 49-year-old Erika Jayne of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills filed for divorce from her husband of 21 years, 81-year-old lawyer Tom Girardi. Now, when they wed in ’99, Tom was a hotshot attorney with lots of moolah and Erika was a single mom waitress/aspiring actress. So color me shocked when I learned there was no prenup! According to a tweet I half-read, that could entitle Erika to walk away with 50% of Tom’s fortune.

Apparently, this was information we knew all along. Back in 2018, Erika told Andy Cohen that she never signed a prenup, via US Weekly:

“But let me tell you something, let me be very clear. I’m married to a very powerful lawyer. A prenup wouldn’t stand in his way anyway. So it doesn’t matter whether you had one or you didn’t, it’s gonna be all Tom’s way, I assure you.”

She added, “He’ll rip that piece of paper to shreds in two seconds!”

Um, great news? Sounds like things could get messier than all of Tom’s lawsuits. He’s currently being sued for stuff like fraud, stealing, and allegedly scamming a former widow client. His finances could take a major hit, and some Twitter detectives think it’s all one big conspiracy:

Or Erika noticed the money in the bank account dwindling, packed up her wigs, and was all, “See ya later, Daddy!”

According to an InTouch Weekly source, this was a long time coming, and the couple “were more like very close friends than husband and wife”:

“Erika and Tom have led separate lives for years,” the insider divulges of the pair. “[She] would go off touring and doing her own thing, and Tom would do his.” The duo “realized it wasn’t working during lockdown” amid the global coronavirus pandemic “when travel restrictions were enforced.”

“The pandemic is having a mental impact on everyone, and Erika’s been reflecting on what she wants moving forward. Being married to Tom isn’t part of her plan.”

Maybe Tom’s not part of her plan, but I’ll bet his money is. Because, as we all know, it’s XXpen$ive to be meeee-eee-eee-ee-ee-ee heeerrrrrr-rrr-rrr-rr-rr-rr!
