John Legend Called Out “Your Former Favorite Rappers” At A Biden/Harris Rally

November 3, 2020 / Posted by:

While performing at a campaign event supporting the Biden/Harris ticket in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last night, John Legend took a moment to call Donald Trump’s Platinum Plan for Black Americanothing but fool’s gold” and then went in on “some of your former favorite rappers, like Lil Wayne, for falling for that shit. John went on to say “The president isn’t strong, he’s a coward.” Ha! Goes to show what he knows. Would a coward call notorious gangster and all-around scary dude Lil Pump, “Little Pimp” TO HIS FACE in the same tone used to call a shy kitten over for a sip of milk? Because that’s just what the president did in front of a crowd of hundreds of unmasked supporters, so you tell me, who’s a coward now Mr. John Legend!? Lil Pump might be all of 4’10″ and 98 pounds soaking wet (76 lbs after his locks dry) but he’s earned his respect the hard way— on the mean streets of Copenhagen.

Look, we’re in a golden age of No Duh. John didn’t say anything groundbreaking about Trump, and a campaign event the day before the election isn’t going to sway the undecided rap fan vote. But at least he tried something! My ass is about to go hide under the bed with a Camelbak filled with MDMA laced hot fudge for the next 24 hours. According to People:

Appearing at a Biden-Harris campaign event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Monday, Legend addressed the crowd.

“Now, some people see the meanness, the bullying, the selfishness of Donald Trump and they mistake it for strength, a kind of twisted masculinity,” he said, as captured in footage shared online. “Some see his greed and they mistake it for being good at business.”

“Some of your former favorite rappers have been taken in by these lies,” Legend continued. “I think they even founded a new supergroup, it’s called the Sunken Place” — a reference to the Jordan Peele movie Get Out.

“But Trump’s Platinum Plan for Black folks is nothing but fool’s gold, because you can’t bank on a word he says,” he added, referring to the proposal revealed by the Trump administration last month outlining promises to the Black community.

“Ask the students of Trump University. Ask all of the contractors he stiffed. Ask people his charity was supposed to help before it was shut down for being a fraud. Ask all the Black and Brown Americans who are dying from this virus and losing their jobs under his watch.”

“The president isn’t strong,” Legend continued. “He’s a coward.”

Here’s this part of John’s speech, you can see the whole thing here.

The rappers he’s referring to as “your former favorite rappers” are probably elder statesmen like Kanye West, Ice Cube, and 50 Cent, who have gotten themselves associated with the Trump campaign by various means. Kanye of course by going full MAGA two years ago and MAGA adjacent this year with his spurious third-party run for president. Ice Cube, while insisting his involvement with the Trump campaign has always been bipartisan, has MAGA-GOO(™) all over his face now anyway. And Fofty, well he’s a flip-flopper who’s both greedy AND afraid of Chelsea Handler. But Lil Wayne and Lil Pump have gone out of their way to support Donald Trump and Donald Trump has gone out of his way to exploit that. Here’s Donald showing Lil Pump the respect he deserves at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan last night.

I like how he hits those hard Ts in “Little” like some people hit the hard R in the N-word. Donald’s lucky Lil Pump just rolled with it instead of kicking him in the shins and hiding under the podium like the badass he usually is. Like I said before, we’re deep in the No Duhs now. Neither Trump nor that crowd knows their Lil Pump from their Lil Penis Pump. But here’s one surprise for you. Donald, seemingly sincerely, praised Lil Wayne as “an activist” before absolutely sincerely bragging about campaigning on election day and having “the biggest crowds in the history of politics.

So get out there folks! This could be your last chance to catch COVID-19 directly from the horse’s ass!
