Britney Spears Thanks Everyone For Their Concern, But Says She’s The Happiest She’s Ever Been
To say that Britney Spears has been going through it the past couple of years would be an understatement. Because let’s face it, fighting with your dad is one thing. But make the fight a public one, add lawyers into it, and times it by the fact that you’re Britney Spears, and you’ve got a capital-D difficult situation. People get worried for Britney Spears, but yesterday, she posted an Instagram video assuring everyone that she’s all good.
Jamie Spears has suggested that Britney can and should begin speaking for herself, but he meant that more in a courtroom way. For now, Britney has chosen to speak for herself, to an audience of 26.7 million Instagram followers. And she might have sort-of addressed the recent-ish drama started by her dad when he demanded her lawyer stop talking for her. Britney’s lawyer Sam Ingham claimed that he had to file documents on her behalf because she lacked the mental capacity to sign declarations. One of those documents was a letter stating Britney didn’t want to perform anymore. Jamie thought Britney might be getting played by her lawyer, and argued that Britney should be the one talking.
Yesterday Britney posted this video, explaining that she’s the happiest she’s ever been.
“Hi. So I know that there have been a lot of comments and a lot of people saying a lot of different things about me, but I just want to let you guys know that I am fine. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I’m sending all of you guys a lot of prayers, wishes and a lot of love.”
Naturally, some people popped into her comments to ask if it was a current video, or if she was being coached to say she was happy. One commenter suggested that Britney’s hands might have been a clue that something was off because she usually keeps her hands in her pockets. And I’m sure the #FreeBritney conspiracy theories don’t end there. Especially after the most recent video she posted, of Britney dancing alone in her house and talking about performing and language.
As you can see, Britney writes in the caption that she loves performing for huge audiences, but she also enjoys just busting out a twirl for herself in her house. She also writes that you can “say so much without saying a word.” That’s true, but I don’t know what Britney is trying to say with that dance. Is Britney trying to tell us that we should trust her lawyer to keep talking for her? Is it a hint that she really does want to retire? Personally, it seems like a silent message to her housekeeper to only wax the floors when Britney is out of town. Nobody wants to hear that Britney spun into a twisted ankle on some super-slick travertine tile.
