Eva Mendes Says That Being With Ryan Gosling Made Her Want To Have Kids

Did you hear that? That was the sound of the collective universe screaming “no shit, Eva!” after she blurted out the most unnecessarily obvious statement in the history of celebrity interviews. Apparently, Eva Mendes, who has been in a relationship with Ryan Gosling––with whom she shares two daughters––since 2011, NEVER used to think about birthin’ babies or pushing strollers and shit until she started grinding up on her hunky man.

But that’s funny, huh? Ya, my hot boyfriend helped me get over my hatred of kids once I realized that having constant, non-step sex with him (especially during those “The Place Beyond the Pines” years) was worth changing a few diapers. Hell, I’d have Ryan Gosling’s babies…and I just witnessed a screaming, maskless 5-year-old in a Walmart YESTERDAY.

Eva and Ryan have two daughters together: 6-year-old Esmerelda Amada and 4-year-old Amada Lee. And according to E! Online, Eva recently gave an interview to Australia’s Nova 96.9 radio station and confessed that she never used to think about becoming a parent until she met the right dude:

“I was lucky enough to work my bum off for 20 years,” she said. “I never wanted babies before until I fell in love with Ryan, and then it just kind of worked out to where I was 40 and having my first baby and then I think I was 42 with my second one, so it worked out in that way that I had a career and then I changed my focus to my family.”

And by the way, she is most definitely not here to be the poster girl for giving up your job to start a family:

“I never want to send the wrong message to young women out there,” she cautioned. “It’s not an either/or situation.”

46-year-old Eva hasn’t appeared in a movie since 2014––the same year she gave birth to her first child. Instead, she’s devoted herself to being a full-time mom and, you know, good for her. But now that her kids are getting older, she has expressed an interest in going back to movies. But nothing too violent or sexy.

“I’m thinking of definitely going back…I feel like it’s time [but] the list is getting shorter and shorter of stuff that I’ll do…I think the only thing that’s left is like Disney…I just need Ryan to direct another film and then hire me.”

Now this is the kind of stunt casting I can get behind…as long as Ryan co-stars in whatever he directs…and as long as hops back into that hot and trashy bleach look with the face tattoos from Place Beyond the Pines.
