The 2020 CMT Music Awards Brought Out The Cowboys And Glitter

The 2020 CMT Music Awards were held last night and while it was mostly socially-distanced with stars appearing via video from all over the world, that doesn’t mean we don’t get to critique their fashion choices. There was a distanced carpet, and there were performances, including Noah Cyrus keeping the definition of elegance alive by looking like a Fredrick’s of Hollywood Kacey Musgraves.

The hostess of the show, Sarah Hyland, kept it timely by masking-up and telling people to vote at the same time:

Don’t worry, Sarah’s hosting outfit changes were a lot better than her voting rights-Kitana:

Kelsea Ballerini cracked open a disco ball and climbed inside of its carcass Tauntaun-style:

She then performed The Other Girl with Halsey and they both looked like if the girls of Coyote Ugly stopped showering.

 

Noah Cyrus really showed us that while Miley Cyrus is her mother’s daughter, Noah is her sister’s sister–she showed up in a denim cowboy look and then swapped it out for a nude bodysuit complete with a bejeweled thong for her performance. She looked like if Kacey Musgraves was a video thot during her performance with Jimmie Allen.

Shania “I Would Vote For Trump” Twain also performed all the way from Switzerland. She wore a cream fringe vest over a leopard-print blouse which looked like something Lisa Rinna would sell on QVC. But wait, there’s more–she also had on sparkly silver pants tucked into a different shade of silver boots. Listen, obviously Shania’s fashion choices have gotten as bad as her political ones. Celine Dion is definitely remaining the unchallenged Canadian fashion Queen.

Taylor Swift appeared via video to give the award for Breakthrough Video of The Year and appeared in a black turtle neck, which was a risk considering her proximity to cat hair at any given moment.

And of course, this is a country music awards show, so there was a plethora of dudes who just showed the fuck up in whatever they were wearing that afternoon:

Straight country men really continue to serve us the bare minimum. I’m just glad Noah Cyrus was there to represent in their stead.
