Courteney Cox Revealed She Hasn’t Seen Boyfriend Johnny McDaid Since Before The Pandemic
It’s been over seven months since that hag Corona V. forced North America into pandemic lockdown mode. Seven months of no touching, no socializing, and no free mouthin’ (eating, kissing, breathing). And Courteney Cox has been without her boyfriend, Johnny McDaid, that entire time. The 44-year-old member of the band Snow Patrol went to Europe for work in March, and the next day California closed its borders to visitors. We knew this. Back in May Courteney told mean ol’ Ellen that she was geographically separated from Johnny and “missed his touch” (translation: “I’m horny”). A bunch of months later, and Courteney shared a relationship update on her friend Foy Vance’s podcast The Vinyl Supper. And that update is: still separated! And probably still horny!
56-year-old Courteney says:
“Let’s say it’s been 150 days. I’ve cooked 145 of them. And I haven’t seen John in that many days. He left and the next day the whole country shut down. Yeah, or at least California did. I think maybe New York was before us.”
That left Courteney on her own with 16-year-old daughter Coco. So a couple of friends moved in to keep them company:
“I’ve had these two friends … they were gonna quarantine with me, which is great because if I can’t be with John, I don’t wanna be just by myself with Coco. I’m a little chicken.”
One of those friends ended up getting COVID and had to stay in the hospital on a ventilator for eighteen days. Luckily, he made a full recovery. Courteney says, “I wouldn’t even understand COVID if I hadn’t been right there.”

Courteney and Johnny are used to the long-distance thing. They got engaged after six months of dating in 2014, then called that shit off in late 2015. During the breakup, Johnny moved to London, then, a few months later the couple reconciled. Their engagement was never officially back on (at least publicly), and Johnny didn’t move back from London, so ever since they’ve been flying back and forth visiting each other. Courteney called it, “expensive”. Um, yes. Also? Sounds exhausting. I can hardly survive the ten-minute subway ride and subsequent seven-minute walk to visit my boyfriend. If dude moves any farther away, we’re officially through. Fuck love, my legs hurt.
