Chris Pratt Isn’t Going To Assemble With The Rest Of The Avengers To Raise Funds For Joe Biden

Chris Pratt is many things. Actor. Buff guy. At one time the most enjoyable part of NBC’s Parks and Recreation. But Chris Pratt is also a not-so-secret likely right-leaning fundamentalist Christian bro involved with a questionable celebrity church (that he swears isn’t as homophobic as you’ve heard). And so with that being said, it’s probably not too much of a mystery who he could possibly be voting for this November. At the very least, he’s made it very clear that he doesn’t want to be associated with a possible vote for Joe Biden, by skipping out on an Avengers-wide fundraising event.
Variety reports that many actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be getting together tomorrow for Voters Assemble!, with a push for donations to be made to the Joe Biden Victory Fund. The event will include Don Cheadle (War Machine), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), and Zoe Saldana (Gamora), as well as Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo, with special guest, Kamala Harris. It’s not that odd that The Avengers and the Avenger-adjacent might come together in support of Biden, considering they have been known to fight against assholes with weird colored skin, an obsession with tacky expensive shit, and a pretty casual attitude toward mass death. I’m talking about Thanos, of course.
The fundraiser will take place online, because we’re all still mostly stuck inside, thanks to the pandemic, and will start at 6:45 pm.
This would also be the second entertainment-based political benefit that Chris hasn’t been involved in. Last month, most of the cast of Parks and Recreation reunited virtually to raise money for the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Not present: Chris Pratt, who played Andy Dwyer, and Rob Lowe, who played Chris Traeger, and is a vocal supporter of the Republican party. It wasn’t because Chris or Rob hates their former castmates. In April, they both reunited for the Parks and Recreation Special to benefit COVID-19 response.
So naturally, Chris is doing everything he can (without putting on a MAGA hat) to make people think he might possibly be a Trump supporter, even though his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger publicly supports Biden. And the internet has maybe had enough of it. CNN says that over the weekend, Twitter lit up with some anti-Chris Pratt energy after TV writer and producer Amy Berg jokingly asked people which of the famous brown-haired handsome-faced Chrises they’d chose to get rid of. Even if it was a joke, people had feelings about getting rid of the Chris in the upper-right corner. At the very least, I’m confident I know who the shelter dog community would choose.

CNN says that the reasons behind a whole lot of people choosing to eliminate Pratt was because he might be a secret Trumper and because his church is likely very anti LGBTQ. So if Chris is out, which Chris will replace him? My vote is for a simple crispy chicken sandwich. It’s technically a Chris (okay, a Cris), and let’s be honest with ourselves – that group is pretty bland and could use some flavor.
