The Internet Thinks That Cardi B And Nicki Minaj Might Have Recorded A Song Together

There was a time that if you wanted to hear Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s voices in the same space, you had to watch any of the numerous cellphone videos that were taken during their New York Fashion Week show-throwing party fight from two years ago. But those days may be long gone, because the internet seems to think a song recorded by alleged enemies Cardi B and Nicki Minaj is about to drop. At long last, the feud that may or may not have been cooked up for publicity is possibly over!

This news comes from HipHopDX, who report that some Cardi and Nicki fans have been doing a little sleuthing and believe they have discovered proof of a collaboration. The Barbz and the Bardigang allegedly found a page on the lyrics website Genius for a song called “Lavish.” Genius has since removed the page. HipHopDX says that “Lavish” was believed to have been produced by producer Mike Will Made It. They also report that a short clip of a song was recently leaked online, which many fans believe is a clip of the song “Lavish,” which allegedly exists, but no one can really no for sure, since this is all unconfirmed.

The only positive confirmation we have is form Cardi B, who revealed last week that she does have a new single on the way, that it was a collaborative project, and that it might possibly piss some people off.

She also teased something in the vaguest way possible, by saying that the something (which appears to be a photo shoot or a video shoot) didn’t have anything to do with her last huge collaboration single, “WAP.” So there goes my theory that her latest surprise collab was a commercial jingle for the makers of Replens.

Nicki Minaj hasn’t hinted at anything, perhaps because she’s too busy taking care of her two-week old baby. The Barbz and the Bardigang are sure a Nicki/Cardi collab has happened, and they’ve taken their confidence to Twitter.

A Cardi/Nicki collab isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility. Yes, the narrative is that Cardi and Nicki hate each other. But in April 2019, Cardi was asked if she’d ever make up with Nicki and perform a song together, and Cardi responded by laughing sarcastically. Which isn’t technically a “Fuck no, NEVER,” so take that as you will. We’ll just have to wait for when Cardi does drop that song. And if Nicki does appear on it, it will be the perfect track to play for Sia to teach her once and for all that no, they’re not the same person.
