Naya Rivera’s Son Is Being Cared For By Her Sister And Ex-Husband Who Have Moved In Together

One of the most tragic and heartbreaking events of a summer already filled to the brim with tragic and heartbreaking events, was the accidental death of Naya Rivera who drowned in Lake Piru in Ventura County, CA, after safely depositing her now 5-year-old son Josey Hollis Dorsey on the boat they had rented for the day. Devastated by the loss, Naya’s little sister Nickayla Rivera and Josey’s dad, Naya’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, separately posted powerful tributes to their respective Instagram accounts. And now, according to The Daily Mail, they are united in their grief and appear to have moved in together and are both caring for Josey with the help of Ryan’s parents. Josey is surrounded by love? That’s all the good news I needed to hear today.

According to The Daily Mail, Nickayla and Ryan have been “inseparable” since Naya’s death and it seems, will continue to be for some time to come. Naya and Ryan filed for divorce (for the third and final time) in 2018. At the time of her death, they shared joint custody of Josey.

Actor Ryan Dorsey, 37, and 25-year old model Nickayla Rivera have been inseparable since 33-year-old Naya drowned while boating with her five-year-old son Josey on California’s Lake Piru in July.

Ryan and Nickayla have now moved into a three-bedroom rented house together where they are caring for Josey, who turned five last week, with the help of Dorsey’s parents.

The pair are spending every spare minute of their time together, as seen in exclusive DailyMail.com photos.

Since the tragedy, they have been leaning heavily on each other for support and comfort.

On September 6, Nickayla was seen helping Ryan begin moving his belongings from his previous home in North Hills, in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley, to a new rented home where the pair are both living 30 minutes away.

Two days later, the pair spent two hours loading his furniture from his old home into a rented yellow moving truck, which Ryan drove to the new house, which has a pool and costs nearly $5,000-a-month to rent.

It seems whenever the pair has been spotted of late, they are always together. It appears they barely leave home without each other for company.

On September 19, the pair playfully held hands as they shopped in a local Target store.

I’m still just hearing that Josey is surrounded by love, which, again, is all the good news I needed to hear today. However, according to Just Jared, it sounds like some folks have been looking at Nickayla and Ryan sideways because of the arrangement, prompting Nickayla to respond in her Instagram stories.

“In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends and family,” she writes. “Showing up for my nephew, even though I can’t show up for myself.”

“Im not concerned with the way things look because no one can see each agonizing moment we all endure.”

“What matters most I’ve learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others, and never take a moment of life for granted. I hope you all can do the same.”

Look at me. I never thought I’d see the day, yet here we are. I’m taking advice from a 25-year-old model!
