Meghan McCain Gave Birth To A Baby Girl

It feels like the end of September has turned into The Month All The Celebrity Babies Came Out or Showed Up. And joining the club is Meghan McCain’s baby, an ultra-patriotic baby that one could probably assume was delivered by a bald eagle that did 6 years of med school, and a “nurse” that’s actually just two hunting rifles in a pair of Republican elephant-print scrubs. That information is not known at this present time, but we do know some details.

ABC News announced the news of Meghan’s baby yesterday, which isn’t how I thought this would go. I thought Meghan would show up on The View this morning, still sweaty and tired from labor, with some eye-searing bright lipstick swiped on her mouth, holding her new baby, and telling Joy Behar, “The first presidential debate happens tonight, but there’s no debate here – my baby is CUTE, bitch.”

Megan gave birth to her first child, a girl, yesterday. The baby girl is also the first child of Megan’s husband of three years Ben Domenech. If you guessed that her name is John McCain’s Daugher’s Child, I’d tell you that’s a good guess, but not a correct one. But it is extremely Meghan McCain-y. via ABC News:

McCain, who’s celebrating her 36th birthday on Oct. 23, gave birth to baby girl Liberty Sage McCain Domenech Monday evening.

The co-hosts of The View wished Meghan a big congratulations this morning. Well, sort of. Sunny Hostin didn’t say the word “congratulations” because she was holding a tight toothy smile through that segment instead. Huh, so weird! I’m sure that wasn’t an intentional choice. Maybe her camera was frozen? Someone check the WiFi connection at Sunny’s house!

Sage is probably a reference to Meghan’s home state of Arizona (sage is a common desert plant). As for Liberty, well – it’s probably because Meghan is the biggest American patriot this side of a man selling fireworks in a Walmart parking lot from the back of his Ford F-150. But maybe Meghan and Ben’s name choice had nothing to do with America? I think she was paying tribute to one of the greatest characters of Degrassi: The Next GenerationLiberty Van Zandt. Can you blame her? No one could work a set of wide rectangle frames like Liberty.
