Mariah Carey Claims Her Older Sister Tried To Sell Her Off To A Pimp Back In The Day
Being one of the last bastions of true glamour we have left in this ugly world, Mariah Carey makes it easy for us to forget that she’s a regular-ass human being with both regular-ass, and extraordinary-ass, problems. In my mind’s eye, Mariah emerged from a glittery cocoon in the year 1990 with a halo of curls and butterfly wings, belting a siren song punctuated with a high C7 whistle note. It’s a sweet, sweet fantasy that Mariah has helped to cultivate but in her upcoming memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, she delves into some of the harsh realities of her early life. As reported by Hot New Hip Hop, in her book, Mariah writes about how, at 12, her estranged sister, Alison Carey, pumped her full of drugs and tried to sell her out to a pimp. And to think anyone ever begrudged Mariah a marabou feather housecoat or a haughty affectation. She earned that shit, fair and square.
Mariah’s sister Alison has a long history of drug abuse, was arrested for prostitution back in 2016, and has used the tabloids as her primary means of communication with Mariah. HNHH reports:
The release of her memoir has given the world an intimate look into Mariah Carey’s life like never before. For years, there have been rumors and speculation about her relationships with her siblings, especially considering her sister has often made headlines for her outrageous accusations. For instance, Alison Carey claimed that their mother would let strangers sexually abuse her when she was young for Satanic rituals. Carey has called her sister “heartless” and referred to both her siblings as her “ex-sister” and “ex-brother,” and when the singer sat down with Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview, she discussed what she allegedly endured as a child.
In her book The Meaning of Mariah Carey, the singer wrote, “When I was 12 years old, my sister drugged me with valium, offered me a pinky nail full of cocaine, inflicted me with third degree burns and tried to sell me out to a pimp.” Oprah Winfrey asked Carey about that passage. “We don’t even really know each other … we didn’t grow up together, but we did. Like, they were on their journeys, by the time I got into the world, they had already been damaged, in my opinion,” she said. “But again, I wasn’t there. I was dropped into this world and I literally felt like an outsider amongst my own family.”
No wonder Mariah can’t be bothered wasting a single thought on old Emienwhatshisname! As for those “outrageous accusations” mentioned above, a couple of months ago, according to Page Six, Alison filed a lawsuit against their mom, Patricia Carey, blaming Patricia for her drug addiction and depression, claiming she encouraged her to participate in sex acts with strangers and “middle-of-the-night satanic worship meetings that included ritual sacrifices” when she was 10. Alison is representing herself and is seeking “compensatory money damages” but “has yet to file a full complaint.” It’s some dark shit, but out of darkness comes light, and in Mariah’s case, glitter. Lots and lots of glitter.
