The Queen Has Taken Away Harvey Weinstein’s Honorary CBE (And Prince Andrew’s Title Could Be Next)

The Queen is cleaning house which usually just means running a white glove over every surface in the palace and tsking under her breath. But this time she’s actually rolling up her sleeves to do some real work. According to Deadline, The Queen has snatched Harvey Weinstein’s honorary CBE title straight from his cold, might-as-well-be dead hands. And just to prove she’s not playing least-favorites, Express UK reports that her beloved boy HRH Prince Andrew, is very likely to be stripped of his title as well. There is a little silver lining for the fellas though, both can console themselves by using the alternate prefix, Hurricane.

According to Deadline:

Harvey Weinstein has been stripped of his honorary CBE following his conviction for rape and sexual assault.

An announcement in The London Gazette confirmed that British monarch Queen Elizabeth II has annulled the award, which was originally bestowed in 2004 for services to the film industry.

The British Film Institute recently rescinded Weinstein’s Fellowship, which they had awarded him in 2002.

Those to have been stripped of royal honors in the past include convicted sex offender Rolf Harris and former banking CEO Fred Goodwin for his role in the collapse of the Royal Bank Of Scotland.

CBE stands for Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and is a step down from GBE, KBE, and DBE which come with the title Sir or Dame. Not that it matters anymore, but Harvey’s prison guards were technically wrong by calling him Sir Shits-A-Lot this whole time. As for His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, in addition to getting the Magic Eraser treatment for his dad Prince Philip‘s upcoming 100th birthday celebrations, he’s probably also going to have to get all new stationery.

As we know, Andrew stepped down from his royal duties last November due to his relationships with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and having been accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre, who was a minor at the time. While Andrew maintains his innocence, nobody believes him. Express UK reports:

While he has retreated from the spotlight and was not even spotted in his daughter Princess Beatrice’s wedding photographs, he is thought to still have access to the Queen’s private funds, the Duchy of Lancaster.

Well, it looks like it might be time for Andrew to pass the Duchy ‘pon the left-hand side and give up using HRH. If Megan Markle and Prince Harry have to give up their titles for defecting, it’s only fair that Andrew should have to give up his for being defective.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were no longer allowed to use their HRH status once they decided to step down as working royals earlier this year — although they technically still have access to the regal titles.

Princess Diana was stripped of her HRH following her divorce from Prince Charles in 1996, too.

However, Nigel Cawthorne, author of ‘Prince Andrew, Epstein and the Palace’, predicted that Andrew may lose access to his HRH soon.

Well if that happens he might be able to call in one last favor from mumsy and ask her to knight him so he can maintain some modicum of dignity. And that way, we get to call him Sir Sweats-A-Lot!
