Britney Spears is currently fighting against her father, Jamie Spears, in her conservatorship case. Brit Brit has made it clear that she doesn’t want her father to be her sole conservator and also doesn’t want him to choose a co-conservator. Jamie wants to bring back an old conservator, Andrew Wallet, to handle her finances, but Britney herself made legal moves by asking the court to let her choose her co-conservator. Britney also threw support for the #FreeBritney movement and said that her conservatorship case should be made public because she’s got nothing to hide. Jamie has now filed papers, asking for the opposite. I mean, the court should just keep it simple and let Cher decide since Cher should decide most things.
TMZ says Daddy Spears filed legal documents arguing that before unsealing Britney’s case, the court has to determine if she has “the capacity to understand the consequences of her waiver.” He has argued unsealing the details could “expose sensitive medical issues.”
So the Spears family is obviously fighting, and Us Weekly says that they’ve confirmed that DUH after speaking to sources. A source said that Britney has really come into her own and has taken an “engaged” role in her conservatorship and it’s cause more family drama:
“Britney is remarkably resilient and is very engaged in the conservatorship, whereas in years prior, she wasn’t at all. She would never ask questions about it or go to court. Britney’s family is at war with each other and it’s all because of the conservatorship.”
Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, has continued efforts to get Britney to a place where her conservatorship doesn’t affect her personal life. But Daddy Spears is against it and says it’s for Britney’s “best.”
“Lynne wants a care plan established that would transition Britney’s personal life out of the conservatorship. Jamie has told her that Britney needs long-term monitoring, and he doesn’t think she is prepared to take such a drastic action. With the conservatorship being extended until the beginning of 2021, Jamie was relieved because all he wants is to keep Britney safe and at her best.”
But Britney is tired of the way things have gone and wants to “live life on her own terms.” The #FreeBritney people are really taking a victory lap these days. Britney is also upset that her conservatorship affected her relationship with her sons–14-year-old Preston and 13-year-old Jayden–and wants more custody of them:
“Britney wants to live her life on her terms and is very displeased with the current custody arrangement. She needs to see the boys much more than she currently is.”
The source added that Britney’s non-famous brother, Bryan Spears, has been the “peacemaker” of the family during the drama. Although he did admit on a podcast in July that Britney “always wanted to get out” of her conservatorship while also claiming it had “been a great thing for our family.”
Once this conservatorship battle is over, Britney needs to take her hot boyfriend and relax on an island… until she returns to redistribute the wealth of the world to the people who need it. Britney’s gonna fix her own finances then she’s gonna fix all of ours! Comrade Britney is on the case!
