We recently learned that 41-year-old Katie Holmes is most likely dating 33-year-old chef-slash-actor, Emilio Vitolo, after pictures hit the internet featuring Katie and Emilio doing the opposite of social distancing at a bar. Well, we have an update. And it’s the kind of development that would lead you to believe Michelle Williams isn’t the only former Dawson’s Creek alum who has maybe been channeling the message of the show’s theme song. Because there’s talk that much like Michelle, Katie maybe didn’t wanna wait for her guy to be single before getting together.
According to initial reports, Katie and Emilio aren’t “that serious” and they’re just “having fun,” because while I’m sure Katie is fully recovered from the condition known as dating Jamie Foxx, Emilio is fresh off an engagement. Emilio was engaged to designer Rachel Emmons, and they just recently called things off. Believable, considering Emilio made appearances on her Instagram account as recently as six weeks ago:
According to Guest of a Guest, an anonymous source has claimed that they were actually still very much engaged as recently as the day that pictures of Katie and Emilio came out. An unconfirmed source contacted celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi and alleged that Emilio and Rachel were engaged for a year and a half. Another unconfirmed source alleged that Emilio and Katie had been seen together in August, when he was allegedly still with his fiancée. The first source claims that he dumped Rachel via text on September 4th, the day everyone learned of Katie and her possible new guy Emilio.
As for how Katie and Emilio met, In Touch says that Katie and Emilio met through mutual friends, and that they, “connected instantly.” According to In Touch’s source, Emilio doesn’t get star-struck and he makes her laugh, which apparently makes him a perfect match. Eh, still makes more sense than whatever she had going on with Tom Cruise.
“Emilio is well-connected and mingles with the stars, so [he] understands Katie’s career and gets the pressure of fame.” Emilio’s “warm nature puts her at ease,” and she “feels comfortable” opening up to him.
“Emilio is charming and witty and constantly has Katie in hysterics. Since they started dating, she hasn’t stopped smiling. He lets Katie be herself.”
And Emilio’s a good match because he’s not Jamie Foxx.
“Unlike Jamie, he isn’t into the whole nightclub scene and partying all night,” the insider said about beau. “He treats her like a princess.”
But back to that timeline. The mystery is whether anyone will be making a Katie Holme-wrecker joke regarding when she might have linked up with Emilio, or if Emilio was hiding the fact that he still had a fiancé, or if all of these sources are fibbing. If only we could talk to one of those mutual friends who helped introduce Katie and Emilio. Maybe they know the truth. At the very least, they could confirm or deny if Emilio really dumped his fiancé via text. That’s bold, if it’s true. Like, normally an allegedly shady dude would at least send an initial, “That’s not me making out with Katie Holmes in those pap pics, I swear!” defensive text first.
