Marisol Nichols From “Riverdale” Is Making A Show About Her Side Gig As An Undercover Sex Trafficking Agent
Here’s a weird one. Marisol Nichols, who, up until recently, played Veronica’s mom on Riverdale, has been an undercover pedo hunter this whole time. I know! They walk among us!
Marisol revealed her double life in May’s issue of Marie Claire. Now her story is being turned into a TV series (fictional, not just a reboot of To Catch A Predator) by Sony Pictures Television. She’ll executive produce and “likely star”, according to Deadline.
46-year-old Marisol spent the past six years helping the FBI hunt child sex predators domestically and internationally. She played the “bait”, either as the child or the parent pimping out her child. She’d get on the phone and mimic the voice of a young girl to arrange the strings, and even dress up as a kid. via Marie Claire:
She’s 46 but, waif-like and five foot four with a hoodie over her head and a bedsheet draped across her shoulders, can pass for a teenager. Or she might wear her long, dark hair matted and put on a beer-soaked Mötley Crüe T-shirt, and suddenly she’s a young junkie mom prostituting her kid. She can play madam or victim.
Marisol started doing undercover work when her acting career slowed down around 2012. Checks out, she would have been in her late 30s, and that’s positively ancient to both pedos and Hollywood. A couple of years later she started her own nonprofit, Foundation for a Slavery Free World, and speaks publicly about sex trafficking.
Marisol says she was inspired to help catch pedos partly due to her experience of being gang-raped at the age of 11. As a teen, she turned to drugs to cope, but credits acting and, uh, Scientology with saving her life. She says she believes the allegations against the cult are completely made up. Hmm, can they include that little tidbit in the TV show? We need more complicated female anti-heroes on our screens. Watch out, Walter White! You’re yesterday’s news, Tony Soprano! Adios, Don Draper!
