John Cassabria, the Amazon driver who saved a pooch from drowning his way to Jesus!

Not all heroes wear capes, some wear Amazon vests (while carrying your package of a gallon jug of butt lube and microwave pork rinds, and by “your” I mean “my“). John Cassabria, a delivery driver for Amazon, proved this when he heroically saved a pepaw dog from drowning in the pool.

John tells WBZ-TV that earlier this summer, he made a stop on his route in Woburn, Massachusetts, and within a quick second, he knew it wasn’t going to be a regular delivery job. John’s heart immediately freefell when he spotted a dog snout in the water and knew that pooch was possibly in a bad way. The dog was struggling to stay above water in the deep end, so John immediately went from Amazon driver to pooch savior and jumped into the pool with everything on. John was wearing a watch and had his phone and his wallet in his pant pockets, but he says that none of that mattered. While some tricks would be like, “Hold up, pooch, I gotta put this phone down, shit ain’t insured,” gold-hearted John only cared about saving the dog. John got there at the right moment and was able to pull the dog out of the pool and save him.

The dog is a 14-year-old Husky named Luka, and Luka’s human, Julie Caldwell, was on vacation at the time and so she wasn’t at home. John sat with Luka until the pet sitter showed up and then he want back to work, being the hero to people who are all out of butt lube and microwave pork rinds.

Because he’s pepaw age, Luka’s hind legs don’t work that well, so he’s not able to swim. Julie believes that Luka went into the pool to get his bone, which got wrapped up in the pool vacuum cord. Oh Luka, don’t feel bad, a craving for a hard bone has gotten me into lots of trouble before. So you’re not alone.

Julia, was of course, grateful for John saving her dog’s life, and sent a note to Amazon and Jeff Bezos.

“Words cannot express how grateful we are to him. In fact I have tears in my eyes as I write this email,” the note read, according to the outlet. “Luka is doing fine thanks to your wonderful and courageous employee.”

Amazon responded with this statement to People:

“We love hearing stories about drivers being everyday heroes. Everyone at Amazon was touched by John going above and beyond to save Luka’s life, and we’re excited to celebrate and thank him for his great efforts,” an Amazon spokesperson shared in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

Here are John and Julie telling the tale of how he saved Luka!

Since Jeff Bezos is totally known for treating his employees like gold-wrapped gold (read: the opposite of that), I am sure he will reward hero John with a giant bonus for getting Amazon some good press and totally won’t charge Julie’s Amazon card an extra fee for one of his employees saving her dog. I’m sure Luka is very grateful as well, even though in that video, he’s casually walking around like, “Pfft, I was just lounging in the pool. No need for the Baywatch dramatics.
