Seal Thinks Heidi Klum Is Secretly Trying To Permanently Relocate Their Kids To Germany

Aside from being a model and TV talent show host, Heidi Klum is known for her legendary annual Halloween parties and costumes. If you ask her ex-husband Seal, he might suggest that she’s already in costume, and that she’s decided to dress up as a gender-reversed version of the husband from Not Without My Daughter. Heidi has recently filed legal documents asking permission to bring her four children Leni, 16, Henry, 14, Johan, 13, and Lou, 10, to Germany while she films Germany’s Next Top Model. Seal fought back, alleging that he doesn’t want his kids to travel to Germany, because he believes Heidi plans to keep them in Germany forever.

In Heidi’s original filing, she claimed Seal’s refusing to let her bring the kids on her work trip because he’s afraid of coronavirus. Heidi and Seal both live in Los Angeles, and it sounded like he wasn’t cool with his kids crossing international borders during a pandemic. Usually, GNTM films in Los Angeles to accommodate Heidi, but because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, filming moved to Germany. But according to Seal’s own court documents, coronavirus isn’t the only reason why he doesn’t want Heidi to take their children to Germany. via The Blast:

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Seal is asking a court to deny Heidi’s request to take their four children to Germany in the fall, claiming her true intention is to move there for good. “I believe Heidi has a hidden agenda to move the children to Germany,” Seal claims.

Heidi is married to fellow German Tom Kaulitz, of Tokio Hotel fame. Heidi also stated in her petition that one of the big reasons she wanted the kids to tag along was so that they could visit their grandparents, who live in Germany. So it’s not exactly out of the realm of possibility that Heidi and Tom might possibly want to relocate back to Germany at some point in time.

Seal added that a second coronavirus wave could force everyone back into lockdown again, which would keep his children in Germany:

“Notwithstanding Heidi’s request, if granted, it could in effect move the children away from me and their home here in Los Angeles to Germany for what could be an indefinite period of time given the uncertainty of the impact of Covid-19 on this country’s and Germany’s travel restrictions which could change at any time and prevent the children from leaving Germany or from entering the United States.”

Heidi has also argued that she kind of needs to bring the kids with her because they don’t really see their dad that much. She also claimed that it would absolutely not be in the children’s’ best interest to stay with their dad while she’s off filming. It was a pretty loud implication that Seal was maybe not the greatest dad. Well, Seal would like to shut down that rumor and accused Heidi of keeping their kids away from him:

“Unfortunately, when I ask Heidi for more time to see the children, Heidi often makes it unnecessarily difficult by alleging that she and the children are “busy” on particular days’, that the children are ill, or that they simply cannot see me. As such, I am often forced to see the children on Heidi’s schedule and when it is convenient for her, which has significantly decreased my custodial time. Nevertheless, I make it a point to spend as much time with the children as possible and to make myself accessible to the children,” the singer claims.

Seal also implied that Heidi was plotting to leave the United States by any means necessary. An alleged email from Heidi to Seal was published by The Blast, which was sent on March 17th (right after everything shut down in the US). She writes that she’s worried about everything that is going on, and that Donald Trump is making things worse, and that she “wants to leave asap.” In the email, she also tells Seal that she’s been looking for a home outside Berlin, and that she has a stack of German passports and a big private plane on hold for a possible escape.

Seal claimed in his response that he chalked up Heidi’s email as just being paranoid and anxious, and didn’t think much of it. Until she came to him with the request to take the kids to Germany to film GNTM and visit their grandparents. According to Seal, he believes Heidi is still worried about the United States turning into a “police state,” and hints that she still wants out asap, and permanently.

It does sound like Heidi is probably taking any opportunity to get the heck out of the USA, at least for a little while. And very clearly, Seal doesn’t want that to happen, because he doesn’t want a “TBD” for the next time he can see his kids. Heidi is a German citizen and she’s got a job on the line, so a judge might grant her wish and let her escape to Berlin. It’s a mess that has no answer. Only questions. The least-important being: how did I get through this whole post without making a Berlin, “Don’t Take My Kids Away” joke.
