Heidi Klum Has Filed Legal Documents Against Seal, Claiming That He Won’t Let Her Take Their Kids To Germany

Heidi Klum and Seal were married for seven years before calling it quits in 2012, and it was alleged that he couldn’t handle being married to a woman who’s richer and more successful than him. They share four children: Leni, 16, Henry, 14, Johan, 13, and Lou, 10. It seemed like things were okay between Heidi, who is now married to Tom Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel, and Seal… until now. Heidi is the host of Germany’s Next Top Model and so she must go to Germany to do the show and she wants to take their children, but Seal won’t allow it. So Heidi has filed a request for an emergency hearing to get the court to help her out, and her kids are apparently on her side. I guess the idea of spending Halloween away from their mother is too much!

People says that in Heidi’s legal filing, she claimed that Seal refuses to allow the children to travel to Germany over fears of coronavirus. Heidi stated that normally GNTM is filmed in Los Angeles to accommodate her, but because of COVID-19, the German production crew can’t fly to LA. Filming for season 16 begins in October and Seal “has not yet approved of this trip.” Heidi knows the dangers and she’s taken precautions.

“I am well aware of all of the necessary precautions associated with the COVID-19 virus, and would never put our children at risk–I have taken all the precautions for Germany the same way I do in the United States,” Klum wrote in her declaration, adding that she is “grateful” to have the ability to work given the current state of the economy.

Heidi wrote that she’s even willing to swap holiday custody schedules with Seal. FYI: Seal’s real name is Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel.

“There will be a three-week break for the Christmas holidays… Though the children were originally slated to spend this Christmas break with me (as Henry spent Christmas 2019 with them), I am willing to agree that Henry spend the Christmas break with them again this year so that the children can be with their father during this time, if Henry would like this… Also, as Henry has a British passport, he would be able to visit the children while they are in Germany if he wishes to do so.”

Apparently Seal agreed to this in April but changed his mind. Heidi wrote that she’s “desperate” to not have the kids stay with Seal while she’s working because “it could not possibly be in their best interests.” Worse for Seal, their eldest child, Leni, wrote a declaration for the court siding with Heidi:

“This is hard because I love both of my parents, but I feel like I need to speak up. I understand that my siblings are too young to speak to the judge, so I am happy to speak for all of us. My mom needs to film in Germany for a few months and my siblings and I want to go with her. So far, my dad is not allowing us to go, though we have tried to tell him our reasons why we want to.”

Leni said going to Germany would be an “amazing opportunity” and she and her siblings could see their grandparents. She said her siblings are “really upset” about the idea of being away from their mom and are “frightened” of it being for such a long time.

According to The Blast, Leni also wrote a handwritten letter to Seal begging him to let them go with Heidi. Leni added that they could “come up with a plan” to see him during the trip and also pointed out Berlin has a better grip of COVID-19 than anywhere in America.

“I just want to figure out something and come up with a plan and agreement as a family. I love you so so much.”

Who knows if there’s more to this, which isn’t Angelina Jolie v. Brad Pitt degrees of messy yet. But the court should just give the children whatever they want. I mean, some of them had to sit through ten thousand vow renewal ceremonies between Heidi and Seal. They’ve been through enough!
