Prince Harry Is Ready To Take Hollywood By Storm

I feel like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kind of fucked up by first pretending they wanted to be philanthropists when what they really wanted to was to live the quiet life as humble publicity farmers who also happen to be Hollywood royalty. Now they are saddled with the burden of having to give everything they do an air of charity instead of being able to really just go for it. According to Us Weekly, Harry has been harboring “a creative streak” which Meghan inspired him to “take to the next level.” Now Harry’s “determined to make it in Hollywood, just as much as Meghan” but instead of running off to audition for a role on the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy as a hot new doc with a complicated past, he’s “focusing on making documentaries connected to good causes,” to which I say BOO! Give Harry a lab coat and clipboard and watch him soar!

According to Us Weekly, Harry and Meghan have already gotten to work taking Hollywood by storm:

Going Hollywood! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lived a relatively quiet life since moving stateside — but behind-the-scenes, they have set a plan in motion.

“Harry’s determined to make it in Hollywood, just as much as Meghan,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “He’s focusing on making documentaries connected to good causes — not just on the production side of things. We’ll also be seeing him in front of the camera, more as a spokesperson than anything else.”

“Working in the entertainment industry isn’t something he particularly thought about doing as royal, but since separating from the royals, he now has the opportunity to explore new, exciting opportunities and can’t wait to get his upcoming projects off the ground,” the source tells Us.

Variety reports that back in June, around the same time they signed up with the Harry Walker Agency which reps famous people (like their neighbor Oprah) for speaking engagements, Meghan and Harry were also pitching a “top secret” project to a number of different studios.

While the concept behind their pitch is unknown, the world-famous couple took meetings in June with networks. Also unknown: if the pitch is supposed to be for a scripted or unscripted TV series, or something else. But whatever it is, the couple would like to serve as joint producers on the project, according to a source with knowledge of the top-secret idea.

Insiders indicate their pitch has been shopped to numerous media companies. One venue that has heard the pitch is NBCUniversal where a meeting was set with top executives at the company, including Bonnie Hammer, the chairman of NBCUniversal Content Studios, who knew Markle from her years as an actor on “Suits.”

Personally, I would love to see Harry eclipse Ellen DeGeneres and become the king of daytime TV (his only remaining shot at a crown) and for Meghan to sink her teeth into a Heather Locklear-esque villain role on a prime time soap, but that’s unlikely to happen (or they want us to think it’s unlikely— for now). Variety says that Meghan “has absolutely no plans to act.” So Harry’s the wild card here. He recently “made a surprise appearance” as a talking head in a trailer for the upcoming Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix about the Paralympic Games (Henry pops up at about 0:43).

Given his work with the Invictus Games, I could see Harry hosting an athletic reality competition show like Survivor. Jeff Probst better watch his back. Nobody can match Prince Harry’s experience at giving the illusion of hard work by wearing a relaxed fit dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
