Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello Are Reportedly Taking Some Time Apart

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello first became a thing last July and while many thought it was just a stunt that bloomed in a PR office to promote their song together, but they proved everyone wrong (or they had one of those long-term contracts). But well, unfortunately, the two famed for their beautiful love, quarantined zombie walks, and their affinity for PDA are Gen Z’s answer to Ross and Rachel because they’re on a break!

Sources tell InTouch Weekly that 22-year-old Shawn and 23-year-old Camila are taking some much-needed time apart to focus on their respective music careers. Uh, no, the time to be apart was pre-quarantine. But nooooo, these two little turtle doves had to co-habit together in Camila’s Miami home, fighting over who gets to use the blow dryer first before croaking out their mind-melting COVID duets. According to the InTouch source:

“The [original plan] was that Camila would go back to Los Angeles with him,” says the insider. “But they decided they needed to take a break from each other.” Over the years, the A-list couple sparked dating rumors on a number of occasions. However, Shawn and Camila didn’t make their romance public until July 2019 — and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

“Despite their busy careers, they’ve spent much of the past year together. They were in love and were best friends—they still are,” the source adds. “The past year was a whirlwind for them and they supported each other so much. Nothing really went bad between them, they just realized they need some time apart.”

“They still talk and love each other.”

They haven’t deleted any photos of themselves together from their social media accounts (although, those Instagram Live videos they did back in March should be permanently scrubbed from the internet) and that is the telltale celebrity sign that they don’t hate each other. Although, things could get ugly when they try to decide who gets custody of the paparazzi.
