Tyra Banks Is Reportedly Pissed Off Over Jay Manuel’s Satirical Book About “America’s Next Top Model” 

Jay Manuel was the creative director on America’s Next Top Model for 18 seasons and so he knows shit. Which is why he’s milking his time on ANTM for all its worth by releasing a fictional book about a modeling show hosted by a crazy mess. So yeah, he spoofed Tyra Banks for his novel, The Wig, The Bitch & The Meltdown, and Tyra is reportedly not happy. Sources tell Page Six that Tyra is telling ANTM alums to stay away from Jay and to not publicly support his book. Jay Manuel is not welcome in Modelland!

In The Wig, The Bitch & The Meltdown, supermodel Keisha Kash hosts the reality show Model Muse and she’s a mess. And a source claims that once Tyra heard about what goes down in the book, which came out last week, she told everyone involved with ANTM to have nothing to do with it.

“Tyra is not happy about the book. There was some kind of meeting with Tyra [and] some sort of message was sent out regarding the book coming out. A couple of months ago, she asked a lot of the America’s Next Top Model family to not interact with Jay and to not support the book.”

Recently, Tyra’s messy past on ANTM came back to haunt her as we were reminded of her more problematic choices, like when she called out a gap-toothed girl and then gave a girl a gap, or when she seemed to imply Yaya DaCosta acted too “afro-centric.” Jay capitalized on the moment, mentioning that he was afraid to speak up when he was on the show. So Tyra might be salty about that. Also, one reviewer said of the book:

“For example: the judges were thinly veiled replicas of the usual ones… But there were extra details woven in–Keisha constantly stole lines from Miss Thing and cut out his funny bits so Keisha would look better. Sasha was popping pills and slurping down booze as much as possible much to Keisha’s amusement. Mason was homophobic.“

So it might have pissed off other people too. In fact, a source says that Miss J Alexander, a former judge and runway coach on ANTM, used to do an Instagram Live show with Jay Manuel, but is now ignoring him.

“All of a sudden, Jay received a call that Miss J can’t [do the chats]. He pulled out without an explanation and hasn’t returned calls. They have a close relationship and now all of a sudden he disappeared.”

A rep for Miss J didn’t comment to Page Six.

Jay better watch himself because Tyra doesn’t let a beef die. If Jay ever finds himself anywhere near Santa Monica, Tookie De La Crème will jump his ass and chain him up in Modelland’s dungeon where he’ll spend the rest of his life stirring a vat of soft-serve smize-cream.
