Ghislaine Maxwell Wants To Be Released Into The General Population Section Of Her Jail

Last month, it was reported that the inmates of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn were growing very tired of the special treatment that was being given to inmate #666 (just a random guess), Ghislaine Maxwell. Sources alleged that Ghislaine was given an entire floor of the MDC to herself, which was definitely a precaution against any attempts on Ghislaine’s life (Ghislaine’s alleged partner in crime Jeffrey Epstein died under suspicious circumstances when he was held last year at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Lower Manhattan). Those inmates now have one more thing to complain about, because Ghislaine’s attorneys have just filed a request that poor lonely Ghislaine be given the chance to finally mingle with everyone else in gen-pop.

CNN says that Ghislaine’s attorneys filed their request yesterday with a federal judge, asking the judge to contact the Bureau of Prisons and demand that Ghislaine be moved. They argue that Ghislaine has been having a shitty time in solitary and that she shouldn’t be punished just because Jeffrey just to happened to die in his cell.

“As a result of what occurred with Mr. Epstein, Ms. Maxwell is being treated worse than other similarly situated pretrial detainees, which significantly impacts her ability to prepare a defense and be ready for trial on the schedule set by the Court.”

Ghislaine was on suicide watch until recently. Her lawyers also argued that Ghislaine has not “exhibited risk factors for suicide,” so there’s no reason for why she should have been placed on a suicide watch. Ghislaine pleaded not guilty last month to the enticement of minors, sex trafficking children, and perjury, and she’s killing time in jail while she waits for her trial on July 12, 2021.

Speaking of that trial, her lawyers argue that there’s no way Ghislaine can cobble together a defense if she’s stuck in a cell for most of the day. Her lawyers want her to have increased access to a computer, but that means spending time in the general population part of the jail.

Additionally, her lawyers have requested that federal prosecutors disclose the identities of three minor female victims who were cited in indictment documents. Ghislaine reportedly needs their names so that she can do some computer research on them. Ghislaine. Access to the internet. Underage girls. That’s a good idea.

This whole situation is the perfect example of why we really do need lawyers. Because there’s a chance that the judge will accept the request to have Ghislaine moved out of isolation and into gen-pop so she can hang out in the computer lab. But there would be zero chance if Ghislaine was representing herself. She’d say, “Please, release me from isolation – I’m a people person!” and the whole world would look at her like, yes – you’re a person who should not be around people. Request denied.
