The Swifties Doxxed A Pitchfork Critic Over A “folklore” Review Which Wasn’t Positive Enough For Them

The Swifties are powerful… well at some stuff. They can’t win an election, but they sure can break a music record and harass the hell out of someone! Which is something… But despite huge sales numbers of Taylor Swift‘s new album folklore, the Swifties were unhappy by the reaction of one reviewer. And they took it way past rat emojis this time. They doxxed the poor woman!

Billboard says that folklore is a monster hit. People love some sleepy, PG-13, pop music! It’s #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, selling 846,000 copies in one week (it has sold 2 million worldwide). It’s also Taylor’s seventh No. 1 album and it’s already 2020’s biggest-selling album. And it had the biggest-selling debut since her last album Lover. And she’s the first music act to have seven different albums sell at least 500,000 copies in a single week AND she’s had the largest streaming week of 2020 for an album by a woman.

So she’s fucking rolling in praise and wealth at the moment. After all of those accolades, you’d think it would be enough. But not to the Swifties.

The Daily Mail says the stan army took aim at Pitchfork senior editor, Jillian Mapes, who reviewed the album. In her review, she called folklorea sweater-weather record filled with cinematic love songs and rich fictional details.” So it wasn’t a bad review, but Jillian gave it a score of 8 out of 10 and that was too low for Swifties because it brought down the Metacritic average, which is based on reviews from multiple sources, from 90 to 89. Hours after Jillian published her review, she was hit with angry social media messages, and worse, fans tweeted her address, phone number as well as photos of her home and herself.

Fans even sent Jillian “hexing” tweets featuring satanic images of Taylor. So the Me! music video? One tweet sent to Jillian was written in Amharic and said:

“Anyone who comes after the Dark Queen, Taylor Swift, dies alone and will be burned forever. You will be filled with your dark fears and demons. You will never be happy and sleep well again.”

And they’ve threatened to burn her house down, and have been calling her at home. The calls came just one hour after the review went up. One hour! These Swifties don’t sleep!

Jillian tweeted this:

“More Twitter threats to roll up and harm me than I could stomach to go through… I’ve gotten too many emails saying some version of, “you are an ugly fat bitch who is clearly jealous of Taylor, plz die,” which is not the first time I’ve heard that from pop stans… It sucks to be scared of every person milling about outside or feel like you can’t answer the phone. That said, I am safe and doing fine.”

She has since set her Twitter to private for obvious reasons.

So these people won’t vote but they’ll learn Amharic to curse someone over a review? Damn! Taylor Swift fans are more efficient at ending a person than The Continental declaring John Wick excommunicado.
