Britney Spears’ Father Has Finally Addressed The “Free Britney” Movement

For the better part of the last decade, some people have been screaming, “FREE BRITNEY,” which is the battle cry of numerous Britney fans who want to see Britney’s 12-year-long conservatorship come to an end. Britney turns 39 at the end of this year, and all her finances are controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.

The #FreeBritney movement has gotten loud enough to reach the ears of Britney’s little sister Jamie Lynn Spears and her mother Lynn Spears, but we didn’t really know how Jamie felt about the campaign to terminate his job. Well, Daddy Spears has spoken, and he’s not feeling the #FreeBritney movement.

There was a time when all the decisions were made by Jamie, but right now her case manager is Jody Montgomery. Jamie still holds the purse strings, which a whole lot of people have a big problem with. He has been targeted by fans, who have accused him of making sure Britney’s life is kept under tight control. They have also accused him of embezzling money from her, forcing her to perform, and preventing her from having another baby. A hearing to determine the future of Britney’s conservatorship has been postponed, due to Zoom hearing crashers.

Jamie recently spoke to Page Six about the rise in #FreeBritney chatter online. And the general consensus is that he does not want you to give him more “conspiracy theories” about Britney’s life. I guess you could say he thinks the #FreeBritney movement is toxic, because he’s just trying to work, bitch. It’s turning into a circus that’s driving him crazy! And there’s nothing criminal about it. I’ll stop, but only because no one needs the clumsy “If U Seek Amy” reference I was about to add. Here’s what he said:

“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue. It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business. I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year. How the hell would I steal something?”

Not only does Jamie think the allegations made by the #FreeBritney crowd is a bunch of horse-pucky (a term I could absolutely see him using), he also thinks people should just mind their business, period.

“People are being stalked and targeted with death threats. It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans. I love my daughter. I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”

One source chimed in to Page Six, saying that Jamie is doing the right thing:

“When she’s left to her own devices is where the trouble starts. She does have some serious issues.”

Britney’s older brother Bryan Spears has also said in the past that the conservatorship is “for the best,” and that it’s been a great thing for their family. Sure, whatever, but I will say this. Jamie claims that he’s managing Britney’s bank accounts with her best interests in mind. But then why does it look like Britney filmed her latest Instagram short film through the lens of a Nokia cellphone? Drop some cash and set her up with a high-def camera and full in-home LED rig. #FreeBritney from washed-out lighting, you cheapskate!
