Some Fans Believed That Taylor Swift And Joe Alwyn Broke Up
Taylor Swift fans love to dissect her music and videos for “Easter Eggs” where Taylor reveals something new or exciting. Well after the sudden release of her new album folklore, Taylor fans are worried that the secret she’s spilled is a break-up! That’s right, people who have nothing to do with Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn‘s relationship are very worried that it has ended. But don’t worry, even if Taylor and Joe did break up, folklore has sold so many copies that she can just cry into her money to mend her broken heart. Only people making money during the pandemic are Jeff Bezos and Taylor Swift!
SPOILER ALERT: Joe and Taylor probably didn’t break up. People love to read into things and Taylor’s folky lyrics are getting picked apart. Not for creative purposes, but for high school-level dramatics. Cosmopolitan says that people are worried that Taylor has Blank Space-ed another one. They point to this lyric:
“Waking up alone. But we were something, don’t you think so?”
The Swifties went on about it on Twitter:
if taylor swift and joe alwyn broke up 2020 is officially cancelled PLEASE THEY CANNOT BREAK UP

But listen up, Taylor has said herself this album is about her imagination running “wild” during the quarantine. So I guess that means she was scrolling through cat Pinterest, forest scenery Pinterest, and black and white photography Pinterest at the same time. Run wild, Taylor!
In isolation my imagination has run wild and this album is the result. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve. Now it’s up to you to pass them down. folklore is out now: https://t.co/xdcEDfithq

Also, Deadline says that folklore is SELLING. It sold 1.3 million copies globally in the first 24 hours of release. And since it’s release, there were 79.4 million streams on Spotify–which was a new record for an album by a female artist. Apple Music also had 35.47 million streams, which was a record-breaker for a pop album. So a Billboard #1 is all but guaranteed even though official first-week sales will only be available next week Monday.
I really don’t think that Taylor has secretly revealed she and Joe are over. That’s more of a direct message she would give out. Her Easter Eggs this time around are probably, like her cats Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson climbed the trees and are actually in the background of the album cover holding a sign saying: “Scooter Braun sucks!” You thought she was over that? She isn’t!
