Naomi, the Bambi-summoning harpist!

If only Naomi was in the forest, playing her magical harp when Bambi’s mother was alive, she may have lured Bambi’s mother away from that hunter with her enchanting musical notes and our childhoods wouldn’t have been traumatized! Naomi, who goes by the name Noomie90 on Reddit, recorded herself plucking out a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence when the soothing musical notes wafting off of her harp tickled the ears of a deer who got closer and closer to her. This is the only live-action version of Disney’s Bambi we need!

As Naomi filled the air with soothing music, she unknowingly gained a fan in Bambi’s Simon & Garfunkel-loving cousin who was lured in by the delicate musical artistry of it all and cautiously investigated the source of the beautiful music. The deer got pretty close, but eventually got spooked and busted out of there. And when the deer busted out of there, the harp-playing Snow White got spooked too and jumped back. Behold, an actual wholesome and sweet moment that happened in the trash year that is 2020:

Naomi posted the video on the subreddit R/harp and it eventually went viral. Naomi, who started playing the harp only in December, talked to Mashable about it and said that the special guest appearance from a deer during her harp recital wasn’t that much of a surprise to her. Deer are known to come out around those parts, but she didn’t know that a deer got that close to her until it busted out of there:

“I know the area where I filmed quite well, and know that deer usually come out when the sun begins to set,” Naomi told Mashable via Reddit DM. She set up her camera and pointed it to the forest on the off-chance a deer showed up, but she didn’t have high hopes. When she began playing she noticed the deer in the distance, but didn’t realize it approached her until it jumped away. “The sound of it running made me think it was going to attack me, hence the jumpy reaction,” she said.

The truth is, I’m not that impressed. I mean, if I played the harp out in the wild, at least a dozen woodland creatures would come out. And yes, they’d be coming out to attack my ass for polluting the place with my shitty harp-playing skills, but still!
