Doja Cat Says She Caught COVID-19––After Making Fun Of People For Being Afraid Of It

If you had asked me back in March what I thought about Doja Cat, I would have stared blankly back at you, pretended I hadn’t heard the question, and followed up with my own: “so, have you watched ‘Tiger King’ yet?” Instead, the #DojaCatIsOverParty initiative failed to deliver on its promise and I’m now forced to remind you that not only is the rapper? (I don’t even remember what she does) still famous, but she’s also now a Doja Cat-vocate for COVID-19 after having caught it––and AFTER saying that she wasn’t afraid of catching it. I know, it’s hard to keep up…

BuzzFeed News says that, after calling people “pussies” for thinking coronavirus is a big deal, Doja Cat has admitted to having caught it herself. And, as is on-brand for Doja Cat, she seems to have no clue about how the virus actually spreads and seems to think she caught it from ordering Postmates.

“I got COVID,” the rapper told Capital XTRA‘s breakfast program in a Friday interview. “Honestly, I don’t know how this happens, but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and… I don’t know how I got it, but I got it…I’m OK now,” she said. “It was a four-day symptom freak out but I’m fine now.”

Doja did not go into details about the symptoms, or when exactly she thinks she caught the virus. Or even if she definitely caught it. And she certainly didn’t clarify whether or not she self-isolated after her ALLEGED diagnosis. And not only that, she also fails to mention whether she shared the news with the members of her Whites Only group chats.

This news comes, ironically, after Doja spent a lot of time telling her millions of TikTok followers not to play into the mass hysteria involving the flu-like virus. And since she speaks to a lot of young people, you know some dumb kid is gonna listen to her over a boring nobody like Dr. Anthony Fauci (who doesn’t even have TikTok…loser!)

If you’d care to cast your mind back (I wouldn’t blame you if you said ‘no thanks, sweetie’), Doja came out swinging with the dad jokes in March when concern over the confusing and deadly virus was at its peak. She took to her Instagram Live––man, I miss Doja Cat’s informative and problematic Instagram Lives…such a simpler time (heavy emphasis on ‘simple’)––and blasted all those scaredy cats (see what I did there?) who were fussing over nothing:

“Bitch, I’m not scared of a coronavirus or the motherfucking beer version of that shit,” she said.

“I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona,” she added, referring to the popular beer, “‘cos I don’t give a fuck about corona, bitch. It’s a flu!”

“You just take some Mucinex and drink water and tea and sleep — that’s all you gotta do,” she said. “Y’all are so scared of some damn corona. Y’all are so scared of corona that I need a Corona.” She then said those afraid of the virus were “pussy.”

Well, good to see that she’s living up to her name and coasting on those nine lives. As for Doja’s current health, who knows. But a quick scan of her social pages seems to indicate that she’s shining and thriving. But don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll be spouting more stupid shit in no time.
