Fans Of The Chicks Think They Know Who Left Her Tights In Natalie Maines’ Boat

The Dixie Chicks have a new album, Gaslighter, and many songs are about a deadbeat, cheating son of a bitch husband. It doesn’t take many brain cells to think those songs are about Natalie Maines’ ex-husband, actor Adrian Pasdar, who was on Heroes. Natalie and Adrian were married for 17 years, and after they split, their divorce fight got messy. So Natalie has decided to not-so-subtly call him out in her music, a la Adele and Beyonce. And in one song, Natalie sings about finding the tights of his side piece on her boat, and fans believe they know who that is.

If you haven’t listened to Gaslighter, here’s some proof that Natalie is probably yodeling about Adrian. This is from the title track:

We moved to California and followed your dreams
I believed the promises you made to me
Swore that night ’till death do us part
But you lie-lie-lie-lie-lied
Hollywood welcomed you with open doors
No matter what they gave you, you still wanted more

OK, clearly about Adrian. Natalie also drops the boat tidbit in that song:

Cause, boy, you know exactly what you did on my boat
And, boy, that’s exactly why you ain’t comin’ home

BUT WAIT! There’s more about that boat. In a song called Tights On My Boat, Natalie sings:

And you can tell the girl who left her tights on my boat
That she can have you now

Natalie spills even more tea in Sleep At Night:

Remember you brought her to our show at the Hollywood Bowl
She said, ‘I love you, I’m such a fan’
I joked that you can love me as long as you don’t love my man
There’s nothin’ funny about that

The Chicks were on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Monday, and he, of course, asked Natalie if those songs were about Adrian. Natalie told Howard that if fans want to think those songs are about Adrian, they can, but she can’t confirm it since she signed a non-disclosure agreement when her divorce was finalized. Natalie also said that her fellow Chicks, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire, have also gone through divorces and there were other writers on the album, so it’s reflective of all their experiences.

When Howard brought up the tights on the boat, Natalie said that there were no tights, but there was a boat. via Rolling Stone:

“I hate to disappoint, but that’s not true. That’s just fun,” Maines says of the titular leggings. But while the article of clothing discovered on the boat may be artistic license, the vessel itself is true. “I didn’t say there wasn’t a boat involved,” she clarifies, “I’m saying there weren’t tights.”

Underwear. She totally found underwear.

Well, that’s all the info that many fans needed and the internet investigators at ONTD seemed to have tracked down “Becky with the boat tights” (copyright: ONTD user TheActualWorst). They think it’s actress Amanda Righetti. Adrian and 37-year-old Amanda starred together on the TV show Colony from 2016-2018. Natalie and Adrian split in 2017, and Amanda also filed for divorce from her husband earlier that year. And Adrian and Amanda seemed to go public with their love in 2018.

As for the proof, The Chicks played the Hollywood Bowl in October 10, 2016. Not sure if Amanda was at that show, but she was at The Chicks’ show at The Forum in Los Angeles on October 8, 2016. We know this thanks to a post from Colony actress Sarah Wayne Callies:

So “The Forum” may not have fit in lyrically as well as “the Hollywood Bowl.”

Amanda and Adrian were together as recently as April 30th of this year. She wished him a Happy Birthday using the Schindler’s List filter:

In the song “Gaslighter”, Natalie claims she never received an apology, but I’d say she got something much better: public revenge. Chicks fans are already flooding Amanda’s Instagram to remind her not to forget her tights anywhere else. If Adrian had an Instagram, I’d encourage them to head on over to Adrian’s page to leave some “GASLIGHTER” comments as well. Gender equality, people.
