Draya Michele Made A Joke About Megan Thee Stallion Getting Shot, And Megan Called Her Out
When it was revealed last week that Megan Thee Stallion might have been shot on purpose by her rumored boyfriend Tory Lanez, it’s not too far of a stretch to assume that news was met with an, “Oh shit, really?” or a, “That (alleged) asshole” or a simple, “Well, fuck.” But if you’re Draya Michele, star of Basketball Wives, then your first instinct would be to crack some jokes about it on a podcast. And the bad news for Draya is that her comments got back to Megan, who turned it into Just Stop, Girl Summer.
What we know thus far is that Tory allegedly fired shot at Megan after they got into an argument in an SUV and she tried to get out. We initially heard that Megan cut her foot on broken glass, but then she confirmed that she had been shot in the foot. Tory was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon. Megan has already stared with disgust at everyone who made fun of the shooting on social media. And yet Draya still decided to go for the LOLs when talking about Megan’s maybe-domestic violence situation, thus proving she’s as good at comedy as she is at spelling.
E! News says that Draya got into it while guest hosting a recent episode of the Wine and Weed podcast. Draya invoked the names of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown when talking about the situation. Choose the “Whitney is not impressed” GIF of your choice.
“I predict that they had some sort of Bobby and Whitney love that drove them down this…type of road. I want you to like me so much that if I’m trying to get out the car, and you’re like, ‘No, sit your ass in the car,’ and I’m like, ‘No n—-, I’m getting out the car.’ [He’d say,] ‘No you’re not!’ Bam-bam!”

After Draya was called out on Twitter, she tried to explain what she was trying to say. She wasn’t trying to make a joke about domestic violence when she made that joke about domestic violence.

Megan responded and didn’t call out Draya by name, which is too bad, because Megan is a skilled rapper and lots of things rhyme with Draya. Playa. Bay Area. The metal band Slayer. See, this is why Megan should be in charge of that.

Draya never explained where she was coming from with that joke. Draya says she was trying to explain the kind of deep love she wants in her life. I need to know what kind of fairy tales Draya was reading as a child. If there’s a book out there that features a princess who begs her fairy godmother to send her a prince that will shoot her when she tries to get out of the pumpkin carriage, we absolutely need to burn it.
