Two months ago, Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich announced they were separating after nearly three years of marriage. They requested respect for their privacy as they move forward. A source recently gave Us Weekly a little update on the situation. And if this source is telling the truth, then Julianne maybe should have added a note that moving forward might possibly involve throwing the car into reverse and backing over any talk about a split in the first place. Because Julianne reportedly wants to remain married.
The source says that, despite there being a very public split announcement, nothing is ever final when it comes to Julianne and Brooks. Which is good news for Julianne, who apparently has been saving every space on her dance card for her estranged husband.
“They are both a bit anxious and in the past have gone back and forth in terms of their relationship, so things are always up in the air with them,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “But they are not back together even though Julianne fully does want him back.”
The part about Julianne and Brooks being indecisive isn’t exactly a shock. There were reports that Brooks was done, and that their marriage was bad for months, and then they were seen hugging at the airport. Then it was revealed they weren’t isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic together. It was a mess, but they were apparently going to stick it out. Aaaaand they didn’t, they announced they were splitting up. Most recently, it was reported that Brooks didn’t want a divorce, but he felt there was no other choice, due to Julianne’s “behavior.” He also didn’t like that Julianne was spending so much time with Westworld‘s Ben Barnes.
But how will Julianne get Brooks to return? She knows how to remove spirits, but luring one back might be a whole other thing. According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, Julianne has been posting comments on Brooks’ Instagram account. And that might seem like Julianne has reached the summit of Separation Mountain (it’s a peak called Friendship Crest). But Us’s source implies it might not be the whole truth about what she’s feeling:
The insider tells Us that Hough is “still not in a great place mentally” after the split.
To be fair, not even two months have passed since she announced her marriage was ending. That’s still prime ice cream-and-tears time. But if Julianne really, really, REALLY wants her estranged husband back in her life, it shouldn’t be too hard. She just has to prove she’s no longer the same person he wanted to split from. Everyone loves personal growth! Although things, as they are, might be a tough sell. Frankly, I don’t know if I could handle my spouse whipping through the kitchen like a possessed wind-up toy after I ask them to grab me a juice.
