Text Messages Between Amber Heard And Elon Musk Were Read In Court At Johnny Depp’s Libel Trial Against The Sun

Everywhere there’s a celebrity shit show, you can expect to find Elon Musk lurking somewhere in the background. A couple of weeks ago he was standing hip to hip with Kanye West in support of Kaye’s presidential candidacy (he even involved himself last night in the midst of Kanye’s Twitter spree claiming “We talked about an hour ago. He seems fine.” via Reuters). And according to Deadline, his name has once again come up in the literal shit show that is Johnny Depp’s libel suit against The Sun. Amber Heard continued to give testimony yesterday, and text messages between her and Elon were read in court establishing that Elon had offered to provide Amber with round-the-clock security, even if she didn’t fuck him. WHAT A GENTLEMAN!

But first, this. God bless the courtroom sketch artists for they are to be treasured above all else.

Moving on! According to my calculations, the weight of the resources required to prop up Johnny’s pride with this trial is equal and relative to the amount of energy it takes to keep his entryway scarf rack bolted to the wall. Ok, so I’m no rocket scientist, but Elon allegedly is. We know this because Amber listed him in her contacts as “rocketman.” It’s a good thing Elton John isn’t as petty as Johnny otherwise we’d be having to endure a whole other libel trial. Elton doesn’t deserve this kind of disrespect!

It appears that Johnny’s team introduced the text messages to establish an extramarital relationship between Amber and Elon, and based on subsequent testimony, to support Johnny’s accusation that Amber purposely did things to prompt him into fits of jealousy. I think? It’s not really helping anyone here, but go off I guess. Deadline reports:

On Tuesday, Eleanor Laws QC, representing Depp, read out text messages between Heard and Musk from May 22 2016, in which Heard tells Musk that she is going to obtain a restraining order against her then husband.

This is the day after an alleged incident at the Eastern Columbia Building in Los Angeles, where Depp and Heard lived, in which the actress claims Depp threw her mobile phone at her, hitting her in the face — which the actor denies.

Questioning Heard, Laws said Musk offers to “arrange 24/7 security for you”, adding: “The offer would stand, even if you never wanted to see me again… anyway, sorry for being an idiot. The radio silence hurts a lot. It only matters because I really like you.”

Here’s the text thread that was entered into evidence, in all its cringeworthy glory.

Johnny’s team also introduced the testimony of one of the concierges at the Eastern Columbia Building in Downtown L.A. where he and Amber lived at the time. In written testimony, he claimed that “from March 2015 onwards, Ms Heard was visited regularly late at night, at around 11pm to midnight, by Mr Elon Musk,” including one time when Johnny was in Australia, and that Amber had given him his own key fob to the building. Amber denies that and says she wasn’t “in communication” with Elon until 2016 (though Elon had reportedly been perusing her since 2013 because he heard she was into Ayn Rand *eye roll*). Page Six adds:

One of Depp’s lawyers, Eleanor Laws, pressed Heard, 34, in court Tuesday about the messages, asking her, “Were you telling Mr. Depp about this?”

“Time and again, you have accused [Depp] of being jealous, but we can see here you are in communication with someone,” Laws said.

But Heard responded, “I think all jealousy could be deemed illogical.”

Amber, girl, really? Pity it didn’t work out, she would have made a wonderful robot baby maternal unit. Finally, Amber also gave testimony about that elevator ride she took with James Franco that we saw last July, which was recorded the day after Johnny allegedly abused her.

Laws also asked Heard about actor James Franco, saying: “On the topic of what you say about his (Johnny Depp’s) jealousy, you mentioned in your statement that James Franco was someone that Mr Depp was accusing you of having an affair with and he was quite wrong about it.” Heard said: “That’s right.”

Laws then played CCTV footage to the court of Heard traveling downstairs in the lift at the Eastern Columbia Building on May 22 2016 at around 11pm, before traveling back upstairs shortly after with Franco.

Heard confirmed that the man in the footage was Franco. Laws asked: “Are you trying to avoid being seen by the camera there?”

Heard replied: “We were talking. He was saying to me ‘oh my god, what happened to you?’ He saw my face… when I let him in. He saw my face and he said ‘what the fuck?’”

Laws asked: “That’s not secretive talking on that camera?” Heard said: “Yes, it’s discreet.”

Here’s that video again. Previously, Amber’s lawyers claimed that Amber and James “once lived in the same apartment complex and were simply taking an elevator at the same time. Period. It’s pathetic.

I swear there are more assholes in this saga than at an imitation calamari factory. And we’re nowhere near finished.

Heard’s evidence was initially due to conclude on Wednesday but will now continue until Thursday morning, with her friends Melanie Inglessis and Joshua Drew expected to appear by videolink on Wednesday afternoon.

Gird your loins, it’s all-you-can-eat assholes for at least another day. But since he’s paying for this circus (presumably with the help of the British tax-payer), I’ll let Johnny have the final word on calamari.
