Ghislaine Maxwell Has Pleaded “Not Guilty” To Charges Of Sex Trafficking, While Her Request For Bail Was Denied

Ghislaine Maxwell was present this afternoon on a phone-in court arraignment, due to COVID-19 restrictions, in New York, to formally register a plea in regards to her alleged involvement with convicted pedo Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operation. And she went ahead and pleaded “not guilty.” I bet that after she registered her plea, every reporter, lawyer, judge, and court assistant had to request a break while they snickered to themselves, before returning to the call and asking, “Alright, good one Ghislaine. But all jokes aside, can we have her real plea now?” But that was her real plea.
According to several reporters present on the call, Ghislaine called in most likely from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where she’s playing a game of Musical Jail Cells at the moment. According to radio reporter Juliet Papa, there were no questions asked by the press (1000 of which were allowed to listen in on the call). Ghislaine spoke like a fancy British person, which makes sense, because despite being a metaphorical piece of grimy gutter garbage, she’s still technically a fancy British person. And she pleaded not guilty, but she could always take a plea deal later on like some think she will.
Judge addresses #GhislaineMaxwell – she responds, "good afternoon, Judge, " and says " yes, thank you," when asked if she could hear her. She speaks with a distinct, refined British accent. She is plugged into the hearing remotely. @1010WINS @SDNYnews

Judge – how do you wish to plead?
Maxwell – "Not guilty, your honor." @1010WINS— Juliet Papa (@winsjuliet) July 14, 2020
Juliet adds that pretrial motions are scheduled for February 2021, while a judge has set Ghislaine’s court date for July 12, 2021. After Ghislaine pleaded not guilty, it was time for accuser statements. They are exactly as awful as you have probably imagined. The general vibe is that Ghislaine was an emotionless sociopath who got a kick out of recruiting young girls and passing them off onto Jeffrey Epstein.

Accuser statement: She (#GhislaineMaxwell ) drew her victims in w/ perceived caring. #JeffreyEpstein was a predator and a monster. W/ her sociapathic manner she abused my trust, would do anything to get what she wanted to satisfy JE. Her sole purpose is self preservation. @1010

Ghislaine’s defense lawyers got a chance to speak. They argued that Ghislaine never tried to run when she saw police pull up in her driveway to arrest her two weeks ago. She was simply in her pajamas and got worried about a disturbance, so her security person told her to go into another room for safety. They also argue that Ghislaine only changed her email and phone number because she was getting threatening messages and phone calls, and was afraid of getting hacked. And if no one is buying any of that garbage, there’s also this sad attempt at a Hail Mary:
" The case is 25 years old, no tapes, no video…" defense attorney for #GhislaineMaxwell says there will be arguments over whether NPA in #JeffreyEpstein applies to Maxwell and govt trying to get around it . @1010WINS

“If there’s no tapes to make you sick, then you must acquit!” I’m sure that will hold up in court. Her lawyers are also worried for her health and safety, as she’s being treated like a – shocked British gasp – common criminal!
Defense for #GhislaineMaxwell : "She's being held in equivalent of solitary confinement, alone in her room, lights on all the time – wasn't allowed to shower for 72 hours, legal materials were taken away from her only recently given back…" @1010WINS

Ghislaine clearly doesn’t love her set up at La Grande Maison, which would be why she allegedly tried to get herself moved to a luxury hotel in Manhattan. I’d say the best she deserves is a stained double at a rat-infested airport-adjacent Ramada, but frankly, that’s offensive to rat-infested Ramadas.

But she won’t get the chance. The prosecution was pushing for a judge to deny bail for Ghislaine because she was a reported flight risk who had plenty of money stashed all over the place, as well as three passports, and no valid reason to remain in the US. A judge clearly agreed, and Ghislaine’s bail was denied, on the grounds of her being a flight risk. She’ll be behind bars until her trial next year.
💥BOOM! Judge Nathan denies Ghislaine Maxwell bail. She faces up to 35 years in prison. Poses a substantial actual risk of flight risk.
Rules government met it's burden no combination of conditions imposed by government would be sufficient to assure her future court appearance.

BREAKING: Accused sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell will remain behind bars pending trial. Given the seriousness of the crime, length of the potential sentence, and her financial resources, the court found that Maxwell is a risk of flight. #perversionofjustice

That request for a luxury hotel room was a bold move. Then again, Ghislaine isn’t exactly know for her brilliant ideas. For example, The Daily Beast has published a report about Ghislaine’s arrest in New Hampshire. They say that when authorities busted Ghislaine at her secret million-dollar NH hideout, they found her cellphone wrapped in tinfoil. The Daily Beast says that it looked like Ghislaine was trying to avoid tracking by the feds. Creative, but dumb. And yet why do I get the feeling that 100 rolls of Reynolds Wrap was just Amazon Prime’d to Buckingham Palace, as a royal tailor received Prince Andrew’s head to toe measurements.
