TikTokers Are Worried They’ll Have To Get Real Jobs If TikTok Gets Banned

The popular video app, TikTok, has gotten shit because of its potential privacy risks. The app has apparently been shown to be a huge security risk with the private info of users getting leaked to China. It’s already been banned in India and there’s talk of it being banned in the U.S. Amazon has also banned employees from using TikTok on phones that have access to Amazon email. (UPDATE: Amazon took back their TikTok ban and says that email was sent in error. Uh huh.)
TMZ says the TikTok community is scared and the most popular TikTokers, who are making a shit ton of money through mindless videos, are pissed. They’re worried they’ll have to get real jobs. I understand their fear, because I’m sure that many employers won’t be impressed with a resume that reads: “Mastered the “Savage” dance.” Time for another TikTok challenge! The “cultivating relevant work experience” challenge!
As for how much TikTokers make, one of the biggest TikTokers is 16-year-old Charli D’Amelio who has almost 70 million followers and reportedly earns $25k to $40k per sponsored post. That’s a lot more than you get working a summer job at Ulta. Another TikToker named Sean, who runs @seandoesmagic and has 13.5 million followers, told TMZ that the TikTok shut down would cost him between $15k to $20k per sponsored post. Another big TikToker, Drage Kamerman has a comedy channel, @dragekamerman, with 2.1 million followers and said he makes $7,000 to $10,000 every few weeks.
And finally, Niko Valdes, who runs the family TikoTok, @babyfaceniko, with 1.5 million followers, told TMZ that he’s “terrified” he won’t be able to feed his family or keep it together. The channel which features him, his wife, and their toddler, earns them $7,000 to $10,000 a month. He said without TikTok his wife may have to go back to work.
Oh my god! TikTokers will have to get actual jobs Which fucking sucks?! It’s almost like we should make life better for everyone instead of worrying about the people no longer pulling in $120,000 a year from product placement.
Regardless of the untamed gall of these people’s complaints, this will not turn out good. A whole group of overpaid youngins’ having to face the harsh reality of life as a middle-class regular? They will not react well to having to see their high-standard of living go down! Soon those TikTokers who got Bling Ring‘d will be doing the Bling Ring-ing!
