Hasan Kaval, the Flying Couch Potato!
When my bloated carcass of laziness is lying on the couch, eating chips, and watching TV, I like to get high too. But I get high simply by reaching for the bong. But when Turkish paragliding instructor Hasan Kaval gets high while sitting on the couch, he gets high literally.
Hasan, who is a paragliding instructor, decided to give Lawnchair Larry’s flying lawn chair stunt an extreme makeover by replacing the lawn chair with an Ashley Furniture loveseat, a lamp, and a TV. Hasan apparently spent two years planning this Darwin Award finalist stunt and showed us that he’s the Turkish cousin of MacGyver by rigging up a living room set to go paragliding on. Hasan, of course, filmed the stunt and it went down on July 2 in Oludeniz, which is in the Fethiye district of Muğla Province in southwest Turkey.
And because dying after falling off of a flying couch is one way to go, Hasan said “fuck it” to being strapped into that bitch. The fuckery starts at around the 1:23 mark in the video below. After Hasan launches, he changes into slippers and eats potato chips and drinks a soda while watching Tom and Jerry before landing. If Hasan’s mother ever said to him as a child, “You know, you should really get off the couch and get some air,” this is his answer to that.
I know, I too was disturbed while watching that. I mean, to think, if he fell to his death, the last thing he would’ve seen would be a Tom and Jerry episode! At least put on something worthy of spending your last moments watching. Like Showgirls! Get some taste, Hasan! And just watching that made me prolapse (although, that happens several times a day anyway), but because of coronavirus, I think I’d rather travel like that than in a packed airplane.
