RuPaul Has Sashayed Away From Twitter And Instagram And Nobody Knows Why

I don’t know about your morning routine during pandemic end-times, but here’s mine: I get up, pee, feed the cat, make myself a cup of coffee, sit in my comfy chair, and immediately visit RuPaul’s social media accounts. So imagine my great disappointment when I saw that RuPaul inexplicably deleted every single post from both Instagram and Twitter. This mysterious move comes after a few months of social media silence. Silence that extended to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The question is: Why? Was RuPaul hacked? Was he fracked? Was it to escape online criticism? Or was it to usher in a new album or big project (like when media mastermind Lindsay Lohan deleted all her posts before dropping her hit single, Back To Me)? The plot thickened when Season 10 queen Kameron Michaels also deleted their Instagram posts. Are these two in cahoots, or is it completely unrelated? A drag mystery is afoot, people! Somebody call Detective La Toya!

Someone later claimed on Twitter that Kameron is taking a social media break after getting hit with mean comments. As for Ru, it’s an especially strange time to delete everything, considering it’s the middle of the All-Stars 5 season (obviously I’m a Team Shea/Jujubee combo) and Drag Race Canada premiered just last night (Team Priyanka/Juice Boxx’s bangs, duhhh). Drag Race winner Yvie Oddly tweeted her support for the new Canuck queens, and poked fun at one of the show’s hosts, Season 11 sister Brooke Lynne Hytes:

And then, in a shocking (nay, delightful) turn of events, used this moment to come for Ru:

Oooo, Yvie. Have you learned nothing from Pearl, who claims she was blacklisted from all things Drag Race after revealing that Ru told her, “Nothing you say matters unless that camera is rolling”? I know you already snagged the crown, but, to quote that Whoopi Goldberg line from Ghost, “Lady, you are currently in peril!”
