Laughing Squid has pointed me to the Instagram page of Lisa Biondo Backs who lives on a farm in Texas with many animal friends including the Laughing Chicken who goes by the name Francis. And Francis has a true talent. Francis laughs in human when Lisa tickles her. Whoever said that chickens are dumb, haven’t seen Francis laugh just to keep humas entertained so she won’t ever end up in the frying pan!
Lisa is not only the owner of a pair of perfectly-crafted brows of exquisite perfection, but she’s also a gold-hearted owner of several rescue animals on her farm including Francis. And in an Instagram video, she puts Francis front and center and makes Francis laugh by tickling the chicken. This is the G-rated version of Keep Fucking That Chicken. Keep Tickling That Chicken!

The chicken is not being hurt and is not in pain. She’s responding to touch. Anthropomorphism at its best. She truly sounds like she’s laughing…She is one of 40 pets on a Texas hobby farm where she lives with goats, pigs, rabbits, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and a fish.
I could use a chicken like Francis. A chicken who will actually laugh at my jokes. Although, she’d really be laughing at how bad my jokes are and the current state of my life, but hey.
