There was a time when Terry Crews was just a buff dude who played a sensitive yogurt-eating cop who also had a side gig as a buff dude screaming about deodorant. But lately it feels like Terry Crews has become that guy who is making people ask, “Uh Terry…did you really mean to tweet that?” Especially when it comes to thoughts about the Black Lives Matter movement. Earlier this month, Terry tweeted that you can’t defeat white supremacy without white people, or else you’re at risk of creating “Black supremacy.”
It was only a matter of time before Terry said something new and problematic, and here we are! Terry Crews has tweeted that he’s afraid the Black Lives Matter movement is close to turning into a Black supremacy movement.
Earlier today, Terry tweeted that he’s got friends of every, “race, creed, and ideology,” before begging people not to turn #BlackLivesMatter into #BlackLivesBetter. Don’t worry Terry, the only person at risk of starting such a grammatically incorrect social media movement would be Melania Trump, and I’m sure the White House installed a program to prevent her from writing the word “Black,” so it’s not an issue. But to Terry, this is a very big issue!
If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology.

It didn’t take long for people to jump into Terry’s mentions and try to educate him on just how likely the #BlackLivesMatter movement will morph into a Black supremacy movement. Basically, it isn’t going to happen, Terry. The responses ranged from general exhaustion over Terry’s online antics, to genuine frustration at how Terry’s message definitely appeared to be dancing around a message of “All Lives Matter.” Some accused Terry of invalidating the Black experience by shifting the focus to protecting white people’s feelings, which I’m 100% sure didn’t shock Gabrielle Union.
And of course Black Twitter had some fun roasting Terry up for his continued dedication to tone-deaf stupidity.

Actually, quite a few accused Terry of being in permanent cosplay as his character from White Chicks. And if that’s the case, then Terry, please, I beg of you – take a page from one of your most famous scenes and walk a thousand miles away from your phone.
