Myka Stauffer Is Back To Apologize For Rehoming Her Autistic Son, Explaining How Hard It Was For HER
Myka Stauffer, the YouTuber who “rehomed” her adopted child like he was a puppy who wouldn’t stop peeing on her bed, is back to cry about how hard that situation was for her. In case you thought that a person who would go through a public adoption process to earn fame and money and then get rid of that same kid in secret couldn’t get less likable, she absolutely can–and did.
People says that Myka returned to Instagram with her first post since last month. Myka and her husband, James Stauffer, adopted Huxley from China in 2017. At that point, they had three children (4-year-old Radley, 6-year-old Jaka, and 8-year-old Nakova) and Myka later gave birth to Onyx, who is 11 months old.
Last month, Myka and James brought the tears while telling their followers that they had given 4-year-old Huxley to a family who’s much more capable of caring for his needs. Huxley is autistic and Myka claimed they tried to help him but certain “incidents” led them to believe that it was best to give him to another family. They never said exactly where Huxley is, but denied he’s in the foster care system. Authorities also reportedly opened an investigation into what exactly happened.
Myka started her latest message by revealing the only thing that matters here is HER. She referenced herself 14 times in the first paragraph. Huxley made it to page two. Myka explained that she and her husband were not under investigation, and also that they did not adopt Huxley for money. She claimed she did it out of the goodness of her heart:
“I wanted to help so bad I was willing to bring home any child that needed me. For this, I was naive, foolish, and arrogant.”
I agree with the last part. But she did apologize for any trauma Huxley may have experienced, calling it a “decision to disrupt” his life. And as for the money thing, she explained:
“While we did receive a small portion of money from videos featuring Huxley and his journey, every penny and much more went back into his care. Getting Huxley the care and services he needed was very expensive and we made sure he got every service and resource we could possibly find.”
Note: People have pointed out that Myka’s YouTube subscriber count went up significantly from her sharing her “adoption journey” and the video of her bringing Huxley home was her most viewed video ever and she also spent money on expensive Cartier bracelets and a home renovation. But Myka assured us that she loves Huxley:
“We love Huxley and know that this was the right decision for him and his future. Praying that Huxley only has the best future in the entire world.”

Myka has previously said that Huxley wanted to live with another family and that this had been his decision, and now I believe her. He saw the chance to stop listening to her go on and on about herself every day in self-indulgent monologues and he jumped at the opportunity. He probably said:
“I’ll get a mom who doesn’t talk about herself for days on end?! Let’s go!”
