Hot Slut Of The Day!
August, the oldest Golden Retriever in history!
Golden Retrievers supposedly live to around 13 years old and some reach 18 or so, but Augie has busted an old fart on that statistic by living to 20! The Golden Hearts Retrievers Rescue says that Augie celebrated her 20th year alive in April with a party, and as you can see by that picture, she was so excited, which is why her face is saying, “The fuck did I do to deserve to live this damn long on this hellfire of a planet?”
Augie was born on April 24, 2000, which makes her 20 years old (and 145 in Golden Retriever years). Augie was rehomed twice (for reasons that were not her fault) before landing at the home of her current humans in Oakland, Tennesse when she was 14 years old. The gold-hearted humans adopted Augie because they didn’t think anyone would want a memaw Golden Retriever. She’s traveled the country with them and has gotten close to her younger dog and cat siblings, and I’m sure she’s constantly letting them know how much she loves them by making a face that says, “The fuck did I do to deserve to be around these annoying youngins?”
Augie’s human Jennifer says that she does have some kidney issues but is in otherwise healthy condition. via People:
“She can still move around well (although she’s a bit shaky when she first gets up) and enjoys daily walks around the yard,” Jennifer told the rescue. “Since she was diagnosed with some kidney issues when she was 14, she now eats a mixture of wet and dry Hill’s Prescription Diet k/d, and takes some supplements for her kidneys and joints.”
Jennifer also said that Augie gets SQ fluids twice a week, which “has helped her perk up quite a bit.”
And to celebrate her big 2-0, Augie got a dog-friendly carrot cake that she loved and you can tell that she loved it because she’s making a face that says, “The fuck did I do to deserve this rotten ass carrot oatmeal cake?”
Happy Belated Birthday, Augie! May you live another 20 years. “The fuck did I do to deserve you wishing that upon me?” – Augie
