Kensington Palace Put Out New Pictures Of Prince William For Father’s Day And His Birthday
I don’t know why, but when I think of Father’s Day, Prince William is usually the last person who comes to mind. But I get it, he’s a father. And a royal. And it’s his birthday. So, I guess it makes sense that new photos of him frolicking with his three kids, looking totally natural––as though they do stuff like that every day––would be released today, of all days.
Amid the pandemic, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children have been staying at their little country house, Anmer Hall––which, btw, has 10 bedrooms. But, royals being royals, it was decided that the citizens of the world needed to see visual proof that this immensely privileged family was managing to scrape by. And as a result, a series of photographs, taken by Duchess Kate herself, has been shared on the royal couple’s official Instagram page. And the results are 1980s Lands’ End catalog realness.
According to People, the pictures were all taken earlier this month, and as you can see, show P. Willy playing with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. And let me tell you: they are all SERVING! RANGE! They pose on a swing. Then they’re all rolling around on the lawn, playfully clinging to dad. And Kate, who is flexing those art direction skills, doesn’t even seem to mind that she’s going to have to scrub extra hard to get the grass stains out of Louis’ and George’s starched polos.
They also posted a picture from December 2019 of William and his dad, Prince Charles (in a carousel that also includes a shot of Kate with her dad).
The pics are cure if you’re into staged family photos that were NOT taken inside of a Sears studio. Seriously, where’s the grit?! Why isn’t Grandpa Chuck hanging around in the background, shirtless, cigarette in one hand, Coors Lite in the other? Like all of MY family portraits?!
