Rachel Griffiths Is Sorry For Posting A Picture Of Her Manicure While “People Are Dying”
Rachel Griffiths, the Australian actress best known for her roles in Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters, and Muriel’s Wedding, recently put her foot in it. Actually, she put her hand in it. A perfectly manicured hand. Rachel, who currently lives in Australia, had the bright idea to post a picture of her nails in celebration of manicurists re-opening post-(err…mid?) pandemic while mentioning that people are dying in America. But don’t worry, she thoughtfully addressed the Black Lives Matter movement in the States.
Here’s the (since deleted, duh) post:

Hoo boy, the massive diamond ring does not help.
Surprisingly (to Rachel), the comments were not so kind, calling her “tone-deaf” and “inappropriate”. You can guess what Rachel did next. Apology time! She paired her statement about her “white bitch privilege” with a video of an Australian newscaster talking about Indigenous Australians:
Hey, at least it’s better than Lea Michele’s (low bar though).
Tone-deafness aside, why was Rachel so excited to show off that boring ass manicure? Where are the bright colors, the Swarovski crystals, the expertly painted on emojis? Go big or go home …said the writer who’s never even had a manicure cuz she bites her nails down to the bone like a bloody beaver gnawing on a log.
