The Authorities Are Looking Into The Case Of The Stauffers Giving Up Their Son

Whoever is writing the inevitable Lifetime movie about this mess (starring Haylie Duff as Myka Stauffer and Meghan Trainor’s husband as James Stauffer) now needs to write in a few social workers and detectives, because BuzzFeed News says that they are being investigated by authorities for placing Huxley Stauffer, the boy they adopted from China, with another family. Woe is Myka and James. They strained their face muscles from making several oh-so-sad faces in their YouTube explanation video and now they’ve got to do it again for the authorities.

YouTubers Myka and James Stauffer gained tons of new followers and made lots of money from sharing the story of adopting Huxley, who is now 4 years old, from China in 2017. They claim that the adoption agency told them that Huxley had a “brain tumor” and “brain damage” but left out that he has level 3 Autism and a sensory processing disorder. They say that they got him as much help as they could but after speaking with medical professionals, they realized that he would be better off with a family more capable of raising him. Myka later claimed that “multiple scary things” happened toward their other 4 children. Myka also said that Huxley wanted to live with another family.

Tracy Whited, the media relations manager for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio, where the Stauffers live, tells BuzzFeed that Huxley is not missing but they are working various agencies to make sure that nothing shady is going down:

“All adoption cases are confidential, and must go through a thorough process, with specific requirements and safeguards. In private adoptions there are the same legal requirements that must be adhered to. These include home studies as well as background checks on the adopting parent(s).”

In this case, Whited said, authorities “are confident that the appropriate process is occurring.”

The Stauffers haven’t said where Huxley is. It’s been reported that he is with a foster family who is trying to adopt him, but the Stauffers denied that. And Franklin County Children Services say that Huxley is not with them and that it seems like the Stauffers didn’t work with an agency and made arrangements with an individual instead. Their lawyer only repeated that they consulted with multiple medical professionals who advised them to put Huxley with another family  and Myka and James “hand-select[ed] a family who is equipped to handle Huxley’s needs.”

Myka said in a past YouTube that they used the World Association for Children and Parents agency to adopt Huxley. Susan Soonkeum Cox (that’s a hot name) of WACAP refused to confirm that info, but did confirm that she thinks the situation is bizarre.

“Putting it on social media and describing it as ‘We found another family.’ Well, what does that mean?” Cox said. “Did they go through an agency? Was there another home study done on the other family? That part is highly unusual.”

Okay, what I want to know is, whose hand did they use to “hand-select” a family for Huxley, because these two ingrown nutsack hairs already admitted that they aren’t equipped to take care of him, so how are they equipped to pick a family who is best for him?! That’s like me, a huge dumb slut, being a judge on the Mr. Intelligent Gay Virgin of America pageant. Besides, Myka’s only question to the prospective family was probably, “Are you going to pimp out this child for as many views and dollars as possible? You’re not?! What kind of insane parent are you?! Come on, Huxley, we’re going to Tori Spelling’s house!”
