Madonna Posted A Video Of Her Son Honoring George Floyd With A Dance, And It Didn’t Go Over Well

The only topic where Madonna has shown more self-awareness and grace than COVID-19 is race. After the death of George Floyd triggered intense protests in America, especially in Minneapolis where it happened, Madonna heard the plight of black Americans and had to speak up. Not only did she share the horrifying 10-minute long video showing the police officer with his knee on George’s back as he pleads for air, she called for gun control and justice for George Floyd.

She could have stopped there. But did she? Madonna decided to end her tribute to police brutality and racism by then posting a video of her 14-year-old son David Banda dancing because… dancing cures everything?

E! News said that in her George Floyd-posts Madonna called the footage of the police killing the “most sickening, heartbreaking thing I’ve seen in a long time,” and said “no one should be allowed to carry a gun. Most of all cops.”

So to stop the racism (?) or show support (?) Madonna then decided to post this video of her son dancing to Michael Jackson‘s “They Don’t Care About Us.” Kristin Davis, you better come collect Madonna. She needs your help.

I mean clearly this is not the time for this, Madonna. Even the dog in the video knows this!

And Twitter let her know it too:

Honestly, Madonna’s video would have completely cured racism if it included Kendall Jenner handing everyone a Pepsi.
