Justin And Hailey Bieber Have Threatened To Sue A Plastic Surgeon Who Suggested She Had A Nose Job
If you’ve ever spent any time on the For You Page of the TikTok app, then you know there are some weird, random subgenres to be found, like charcuterie board TikTok or cottagecore TikTok. One of the strangest is the existence of plastic surgeon TikTok, a community that ranges from doctors answering basic questions about cosmetic procedures, to dancing to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” while holding a set of DDs. But there are also some TikTok-using plastic surgeons who like to speculate about what possible procedures a celebrity might have had done. One such video was dedicated to speculating on Hailey Bieber’s nose. According to E! News, Justin Bieber and Hailey really didn’t appreciate that Hailey’s nose went a little viral on TikTok, and they’ve threatened to sue.
The video was uploaded four days ago to TikTok by a plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Barrett of Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Daniel’s thing is revealing alleged plastic surgery “secrets.” In the video below, he compares a side-by-side of present-day Hailey against an older picture of a younger Hailey. Dr. Daniel says he chose to focus on Hailey after she recently claimed on Instagram that she’s “never touched her face,” in response to a side-by-side comparison of her current face and a picture of her younger self. According to Hailey, the reason she looks so different is because that Instagram account was comparing an unedited picture of her at 13 to a heavily edited picture of herself at 23. Not so, implies Dr. Daniel. He suggests people pay special attention to Hailey’s nose when trying to figure out if she’s telling the truth about not having any work done. In his opinion, it’s “physically impossible” to go from the picture of Hailey on the left to the one on the right, without the help of a surgeon. He believes the dorsum is much smaller, and the tip is more refined, and that neither of those changes happen during puberty or aging. That’s not all. He also suggested that Hailey has had the following procedures: skin tightening, eyebrow microblading (which is basically just semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing), cheek fillers, jawline contouring, lip injections, and a chin implant.
Hailey and Justin responded with a cease-and-desist letter. They have also threatened to sue Dr. Daniel for using her “name, image and likeness” to “commercially advertise your plastic surgery practice and to spread false, uncorroborated claims that Mrs. Bieber has undergone plastic surgery.”
Because it’s physically impossible for Justin to do anything Hailey-related without making it all about himself, he also threatened Dr. Daniel with copyright infringement for using lyrics from “Sorry” as the video’s caption. Honestly, it’s too bad Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift don’t get along, because accusing someone of stealing common words is exactly the sort of thing they could bond over.
Justin and Hailey’s lawyers say that Dr. Daniel can avoid a lawsuit if he removes the video and issues a public statement retracting his claims made against Hailey’s face. I hope Dr. Daniel has a good lawyer. Because much like a good chin implant, he isn’t budging. He released the following statement to E! News:
“The purpose of my TikTok account is to increase the transparency of plastic surgery and to educate people about plastic surgery. The purpose of the video was not to disparage Hailey Bieber in any way, the purpose of my video was to share my opinion about the procedures that I believed she may have had done based on photos alone. This is at the request of many of my viewers who follow me for this type of information and for my opinion.”
That lawsuit might happen, which could also mean that Hailey might have to testify on the stand, under oath, about her face. Which would be no problem at all, since she’s clearly had nothing done, ever. But the good news for her is that she’s got an airtight argument for anyone who thinks her nose looks a little different these days. Her nostrils have narrowed in an attempt to avoid smelling too much of Justin Bieber’s bullshit. Case closed.
