Kristen Bell Defends Telling Everyone That Her 5-Year-Old Still Wears Diapers
Never one to let an opportunity to talk about her totally normal family situation pass her by, the utterly relatable Cool Mom™ Kristen Bell is back in the headlines, only this time it’s not to tell everybody how much she love-hates her husband, Dax Shepard. Instead, she’s attempting to address the fallout as a result of her oversharing diaper mess that occurred on the latest episode of her EllenTube show #Momsplaining. You know, the one where she felt it necessary to tell the world that her 5-year-old daughter, Delta, still wears diapers?
Can you believe that? If that’s not some sneaky, underhanded shit right there. Why would you set up your kid like that? Kristen is probably just jealous that Delta and her 7-year-old sister, Lincoln, are the most mature individuals in that house. But probably not. Kristen just LOVES being a Cool Mom™ so much!
For those who were trying to block it out of your memory may have forgotten, Kristen attempted to raise the celebrity parenting bar extra high this week by seemingly shaming her daughter in a very public forum (I mean, how many people are actually watching Kristen and Casey Wilson gab about anything for more than 10 seconds?) According to E! Online, yesterday, Kristen took time out of her busy schedule (which includes ignoring her husband) to address some of the backlash she’s been receiving from “mommy-shamers” on the internet. One Twitter user found the diaper thing to be especially demeaning and felt the need to make a tweet about it…to which Kristen responded directly, giving us more info about Delta’s diaper-wearing ways.
I also dont think its humiliating if ur kid wears diapers late. Everyone is different. My 5yr old wouldn't be embarrassed even if she was in diapers during the day! She's confident & goofy & doesn't see anything about her beautiful unique self something to apologize for. Xo

Oh, but this same user was not done. She then proceeded to bring up another recent example of Kristen’s amazing parenting skills, this time involving their other daughter. You see, because Kristen is so cool, she’ll often post about how much her kids are total squares and don’t get their mommy’s brand of humor. For example, she posted a handwritten note from Lincoln onto her Instagram page which basically showed that Lincoln’s mom has no patience with her.
Well, that same Twitter user referenced that photo and got concerned over Kristen possibly being a Shit Mom™ instead of a Cool Mom™.
And the opinion piece is my 7 yr old, who happens to be frisky and opinionated and strong and vibrant and I encourage her to speak up when she dislikes something- & Im proud of her for telling me shes upset with me! I want her to feel comfortable speaking up, always.

It's ok, I promise. The article was looking for sensation, and everyone fell for it as they so often do. They left out that shes only in diapers at night, which is pretty normal for a 5 yr old who's tiny bladder cant take the 10 hr challenge yet 🙂

Your parents sound lovely 💜 theyve proven to have raised a sensitive and vocal confident woman and I hope to be as lucky 🙂 I assure u when she wrote this she was using her voice to take out her frustrations- which I fully support- being in school at home is not her fav thing.

Okay, okay. The drama seems to be contained. Nothing more to see here. Although, why do I get the feeling that Kristen’s “XO” and purple heart emoji are just Cool Mom™ code for “Fuck off, Mae!”
Let’s not forget, Kristen isn’t the only “adult” in that family who’s happened to share some pretty embarrassing public shit. In fact, if Kristen had told the world that Dax was still wearing diapers, not only would it be believable, but it would actually explain A LOT about how these two incredibly quirky and down-to-earth people are able to juggle marriage, family, a podcast and a tv show on something called EllenTube.
Hopefully this barely heated exchange doesn’t cause Kristen (and Dax) to, I don’t know, get it together and stop being so goddamn zany. There is such a thing as having parents who are TOO cool. Oh, who am I kidding? Kristen and Dax are the PERFECT amount of cool.
