Drake Played A Track Where He Called Kylie Jenner A “Side Piece” On Instagram Live
People are so starved for novel entertainment these days that scores of them logged onto Instagram Live last night to watch a grainy Drake bop his big ass head over some dusty beats he had stored in the back of his closet. And not even his primary closet, the closet in his 16th tackiest guest room. According to Complex, Drake “accidentally” (emphasis mine) played a track that was a previously unreleased collaboration with Future in which he raps “Kylie Jenner that’s a side piece” and that he’s got “20 motherfucking Kylies.” As charming and fitting a sentiment as that is, in the cold hard light of day, Drake found the need to say oopsie and blamed the DJ.

Drake has been making semi-regular appearances on Instagram Live during quarantine—using the Night Owl Sound account that OVO Noel and OVO Mark regularly do late-night DJ sets on—to play some old tracks, as well as some unreleased music. Late Wednesday night, Drizzy hopped on yet again, this time playing an unreleased song featuring Future.
In the song, Drake name drops Kylie and Kendall Jenner, along with Gigi Hadid. “Yeah, I got 20 damn Kendalls / Young slim baddies and they en vogue / Yeah, I got 20 fuckin’ Gigis,” he raps.
“Yeah, I’m a hater to society / Real shit, Kylie Jenner that’s a side piece / Yeah, I got 20 motherfuckin’ Kylies,” Drake adds, before Future chimes in, rapping that he also has “20 damn Kylies.”
To me, the most alarming fact is that there are, by my count, at least 41 damn Kylies running around out there (Original Kylie, Drake’s other 20, plus Future’s 20). And since when have “young slim daddies” been Drake’s preferred aesthetic? Drake, of course, is friends with Kylie, and last year, there were rumors that the two were romantically involved. But apparently not even Kylie’s feminine wiles (read: a billion dollars and a pushy stage mom) could catch Drake slipping (damn female birth control!). Ultimately Drake was deemed “a womanizer” by a kabal of Kardashians in order to save face, and the romance never came to pass. Now that Drake and Kylie are supposedly best of pals, these lyrics are telling. And so, much like Drake’s entire wardrobe, this isn’t a good look for him.

Apparently, Drake was woken up by a phone call from Kris Jenner because he hopped on Instagram to post an explanation as to what had happened in his stories. She was probably extra pissed because he had to take two trains and a bus then Toosie Slide for a mile to get to the phone (he was probably passed out in tacky guest bathroom #28). (via TMZ)
Drake clearly woke up to some problems, he just addressed the track, saying, “A song that mark ran last night on night owl sound live set shouldn’t have been played. It’s a song that leaked 3 years ago and got scrapped shortly after. He was just going too deep in the drake/future catalogue. Last thing I’d want to do is wake up having any friends of mine feeling disrespected so I just had to say that to start the day.”
Phew, Kylie can sleep easy tonight knowing her reputation intact.
