Miley Cyrus Says She Has “No Idea” About This Pandemic’s Real Effects Because Of Her Privilege

And THE TONGUE OF DOOM is back!

Well, apparently Miley Cyrus has more sense than Madonna when it comes to checking her privilege. Miley Cyrus is on the cover of the June issue of The Wall Street Journal Magazine, and in it, she talks about her life in quarantine and how she’s keeping busy with her new Instagram series Bright Minded. Miley’s show gets into topics like LGBTQ issues during coronavirus and food supplies during coronavirus. It’s surprisingly not just her smoking weed and waxing poetic. And during this interview with WSJ, she told them that she actually has “no idea” how bad the pandemic is because she’s extremely privileged. So chilling at her mansion for a month and a half with a kitchen full of food is not the same as trying to figure out how to pay rent and buy food.

Miley Cyrus had a messy 2019. She split with Liam Hemsworth and then hopped into two different relationships immediately afterward. And she’s still with Cody Simpson. With all the drama behind her (for now), she has now become focused on something completely unrelated to her love life: CORONAVIRUS! Bright Minded is every Monday through Friday and she talks to famous people like Reese Witherspoon, Elton John, and Nicole Richie. She even had Elizabeth Warren on an episode.

Miley knows that most people aren’t chilling in mansions and talking to famous people, telling WSJ she’s uber-privileged:

“I know I’m in a unique position, and my experience with this pandemic is not like most everyone else’s in my country and around the world… My life has been pushed pause on, but really I have no idea what this pandemic is like. I am comfortable in my space and able to put food on my table and [I am] financially stable, and that’s just not the story for a lot of people.”

Miley went on to say that sometimes the fact that she and her rich comrades are so privileged gets in the way of her booking guests who don’t want to be laughed at as if they just soothed the world by warbling out Imagine:

“I’m sure some people I was reaching out to felt the same way I do, which is that my experience is so rare, it almost doesn’t feel right to talk about… I’m sure a lot of the hesitation for other people saying yes to doing the show is because it almost doesn’t feel right for celebrities to share our experience. Because it just doesn’t compare.”

But Miley is similar to us in that she will DM her favorite celebs and get no response from many of them. I feel that. I’m still waiting for Henry Cavill to respond to my Instagram commentary which is only semi-thirsty!

“I am the ultimate slide-into-the-DMs! This is the way that I have communicated and actually gotten things done for years… I get some messages that say “seen” [and no response], which I guess is a no… Then I’ll send a smiley face emoji for like 10 days in a row.”

Miley also admitted a shocking thing: She has washed her hair!

“I’m in my sweatpants and a topknot, just like everyone else. I’ve only washed my hair twice for the show: once for Elton John and once for Senator Warren.”

Since Miley is washing her hair now, she should take things a step further by getting rid of the mullet. Quarantine haircuts can go wrong, but in Miley’s case, it’d definitely be an upgrade from this mess:
